I’ve used MyFitnessPal off and on for 4 to 5 years. In my late 20’s, I put on 45 excess lbs; lost it through a better lifestyle, and kept it off for many years. However, in the last ten years, my weight started to see-saw within a 10 pound spread; from trim and fit, to uncomfortably mufffin-toppy. MyFitnessPal works with any specific plan you like; low carb, low sugar, high protein, vegan - you name it. As long as you’ve learned to keep track with their system, you’re golden. It’s a bit of work to get all your foods in there to begin with- but as time goes on it’s incredibly easy. My choice is to be freer than any ‘diet’, as long as 80% of my foods are whole and healthy. I’ve gone off MyFitnessPal when my habits get super-good and I’m back to my low favorite weight. That always lasts for a while. And nowadays, I don’t wait to get to the high end of my 10 lb spectrum. At 6 lbs over my low weight, I jump back onto MyFitnessPal; they save all your food data from years ago! Instead of feeling, ‘I’m just getting older, oh well..’ this helps me feel absolutely empowered. It works! I’ve occasionally bought the high end package, which is great for learning about important micronutrients. Overall; this is an incredible system. Oh yeah, when you exercise, besides feeling better, you see how much more you can eat; or how much quicker you’ll lose weight. It’s basically about learning how the body calculates all of this stuff.
