Clean Up Your Windows!

Bring order to desktop chaos.

Everything you do on your Mac you do in a window—so the more you do, the more windows you have onscreen! macOS includes easy-to-use features for keeping those windows organized, while third-party utilities give you even more control.

macOS lets you quickly resize and neatly arrange windows: Drag a window to the left or right edge of your screen to make it fill that half; drag a window to a corner to fill that quarter; or drag to the top edge to fill the screen.

Want more options? The apps below offer more features and flexibility, whether you prefer to click, drag, or use the keyboard.

Magnet works just like macOS’s built-in windowing features, with the same ways to access those features, but adds options to fill one-third or two-thirds of the screen, center the window, and move the window to a different display. You can also create unlimited custom window positions.

Prefer to customize your window positions and actions? BetterSnapTool lets you assign your favorite layouts to screen edges, corners, and keyboard shortcuts. You can also assign custom resize actions to the red, yellow, and green window buttons in macOS.

The power-user favorite Moom gives you a wealth of resize options: Drag a window to a display edge or corner to resize. Hover the pointer over a window’s green button for quick access to preset and custom window positions. “Draw” a window layout on the screen (shown in the video above). Save and restore sets of perfectly positioned windows—especially useful when moving between display configurations. And perform any of these actions with keyboard shortcuts.
