Who needs building blocks when you’ve got building blobs? In indie hit World of Goo 2, you use cute, stretchy balls to construct twisting towers and swaying bridges as you conquer increasingly tricky challenges. It’s engineering made adorable!

What we love: The wild level variety. Build dangerously flammable bridges spanning fountains of lava. Assemble flying machines that can sail across chasms. And when the Atomic Express goes off the rails at the end of Chapter 3, get ready for some cheeky twists: you might find yourself playing goo-ball golf – or solving a noir murder mystery.

Quick tip: Once the exit has been activated, quickly grab individual goo balls stranded in earlier parts of the level and drop them at the mouth of the pipe. This is crucial if you’re shooting for the “Obsessive Completion Distinction” achievement on each level. Every goo counts!

Meet the creator: Ron Carmel and Kyle Gabler – aka 2D Boy – built 2008’s World of Goo while hanging out at San Francisco coffee shops. They teamed up with indie developer Tomorrow Corporation for this sequel.
