Help us make the Yazio Calorie Counter App even better as your go-to calorie counter, food tracker and weight loss tool. Have ideas or suggestions? We'd love to hear from you!
I've been using Yazio since 2023, and since then, I've lost over 40 kg, with the app being a great help in the process. It truly is a life-changing app that provides insight into daily calorie intake, which is useful for both weight loss and bulking. Additionally, the integrated step counter and workout/activity tracking are beneficial, although, like in any other app, the estimated calories burned tend to be overestimated.I believe Yazio still has a lot of untapped potential that could make it even better. For example, the community feature could be expanded. Users could have public profiles, share their progress, recipes, etc. Another useful feature would be the ability to share custom recipes with others, allowing users to give feedback on them.It would also be helpful if, alongside the calorie values of user-uploaded recipes, the actual recipe details were visible. For instance, when searching for "chili con carne," multiple options appear, but they are only estimated values since the exact recipes are not available, which can be misleading.Another valuable feature would be displaying the recommended intake alongside logged vitamin amounts. Right now, I see a number, but it doesn’t provide much information. It would also be beneficial to have an overall summary of all daily vitamin values and their recommended amounts rather than viewing them individually.
A very useful and easy app

Usually I never write reviews, but Yazio deserves it. I have the pro subscription (which is super budget friendly), I’m using it since years, and I have a very good experience with it. Indeed, in the beginning it is easy to forget to add your meal informations (now they have AI to help you out, super easy) but with time you can implement in your daily life and it will help you to reach your goal with losing weight or staying healthy. It gives you all the necessary support such as calorie counting based on your nutrition needs, recipes, fasting options, challenges. You can also link it with other Health apps to calculate the burned calories from trainings etc. Overall, thank you for this super App, highly recommend it!
Great app, but missing a key diabetes feature
gyorsan1974
Dear Developers,First of all, thank you for your great work – Yazio is a brilliant app that provides tremendous support in conscious eating and daily nutrient tracking. However, there is one important shortcoming that can be problematic for people with diabetes: the app currently counts the carbohydrate content of all vegetables towards the daily target, even in the case of non-starchy vegetables (e.g. peppers, cucumbers, cabbage, radishes, lettuce). In diabetes care, these carbohydrates are not counted because they do not significantly raise blood glucose levels. This means that the actual carbohydrate intake is much lower than what the app shows. This causes problems in two ways:•It gives a distorted picture of daily carbohydrate intake. Users may see “overconsumption” warnings even though their diet is perfectly fine.•It can also mislead meal planning. If a user relies solely on the app’s numbers, they may end up eating fewer vegetables and instead fill their “carb budget” with less beneficial sources (such as bread or sweets), just to make the numbers fit. This could have negative consequences both for blood glucose management and for the overall quality of the diet. Therefore, I would suggest adding a “diabetes diet” option in the app, where the carbohydrate content of non-starchy vegetables is automatically ignored in the calculation. This would be a huge help for people with diabetes and would significantly improve the accuracy of the app in this specific dietary setting.Thank you very much for your attention and your work!Best regards,Norbi
Excellent app

Dear YAZIO Team,First of all, thank you for your great work — YAZIO is an excellent app, and I truly enjoy using it daily.I would like to suggest an improvement related to the “Include activity calories in diary” setting. As it currently stands, users can either choose to include all calories burned from activity in their remaining calories (above the daily limit) or exclude them completely. However, this approach is quite binary. Many users — including myself — would benefit from more flexibility. Personally, I would prefer to only include a portion of the activity calories (e.g., 60%) in my daily allowance, rather than the full amount. This helps with more controlled calorie intake while still accounting for increased energy expenditure. It would be very useful to have an option that allows users to set a custom percentage of activity calories to be added to the daily remaining calories. This could be a simple slider or input field in the diary settings.Thank you for considering this idea, and keep up the amazing work!Best regards,Gergely Kékesi
We're so happy to see you're using Yazio to reach your goals! To help make things even easier for you, we've made further improvements to the app. Good luck!
