Vietnamese Colors Festival
Wear traditional outfits that catch every eye and join the festival on Kaia Island
This month, the virtual universe of Play Together is celebrating the Vietnamese Hùng Kings’ Festival with an entire set of ceremonial furniture and, of course, new clothes too. Step in to pay your respect to the ancestors in new ways that honour the old.
What we love: Decorating with a new furniture set that replicates the traditional Vietnamese home altar, plus the iconic sedge mat. As offerings to the ancestors, there are classic rice cakes of bánh chưng and bánh giầy, believed to have been invented back in the days of the Hùng Kings to represent heaven and earth.
Don’t miss: The new outfits that pay tribute to different aspects of Vietnamese culture. One offers a stylish take on the traditional North Vietnamese dress, including a colourful nón quai thao (flat palm hat). Meanwhile, the cute dragon look is inspired by the belief that Vietnamese people descend from dragons and fairies. Get dressed up in those for the new dragon parade in town!
