The Marvel Multiverse ranges far and wide, and in Marvel SNAP, you’ll be meeting more than 200 superheroes and villains (with their own awesome 3D upgrades). To help get you to that sweet, sweet victory, here are some tips and tricks on how to build the best squad and three powerful pairings you should know.
Don’t judge a card by its cover
Each match of this card battler has only six turns, and the maximum Energy Cost that can be played starts at one, then increases each turn. Some Locations and cards might change the number of rounds you’ll play, but even then, those cool-looking 6-Energy Cost cards might not see much action.
Plan your 12-card deck carefully to give yourself more Power than your opponent at two or more Locations, and make sure to round out your deck with low-Energy Cost cards for more flexibility right from the start.
Hawkeye and Star-Lord

Once you’ve completed the game tutorial, you’ll be able to add these two heroes to your deck. At just 1- and 2-Energy Cost respectively, they are an absolute must for any beginner deck.
Hawkeye’s Power gets a two point increase when another card is played in the same Location on the next turn, and Star-Lord will pick up three Power points when your opponent plays a card in his Location. So if your opponent plays Hawkeye, make sure to send Star-Lord in immediately after to bump his Power up from two to five.
Nightcrawler and Iron Man

Upgrading your cards to Collection Level 8 will give you the Nightcrawler and his one-off teleportation skill. Combine his mobility with Iron Man’s skill, and you’ll catch your opponents off guard.
If you’ve already hit the four-card limit in one Location and your total Power is still lower than your opponent’s, they’ll naturally think that victory is guaranteed. But if you use Nightcrawler’s ability and swap him out for Iron Man at the last minute, you can then double your total Power at the Location and change the game.
Ka-Zar and Squirrel Girl

New cards are great for diversifying your deck. They can come from events, seasons and, once your Collection Level reaches 18, a reward called Mystery Card that gives you a random card from the standard pool.
One of the Mystery Card characters you can get is Squirrel Girl, a useful 1-Cost card that can add 1-Energy Cost and 1-Power Squirrel cards to two other Locations. If you also have Ka-Zar in your deck, he can give all your 1-Cost cards a Power boost to help rack up those numbers.
As more cards become available, your deck building will become more versatile. Card abilities are divided into Ongoing, On reveal and Special abilities with different triggers; some cards have no abilities at all – but make up for it with greater Power. Use the Filter function to find those perfect cards, and fight against superheroes and villains alike in the world of Marvel SNAP!
