Quick take: It’s 1977, Carnaval is happening in the Brazilian city of Recife and enveloping the omnipresent fêtes is an oppressive military dictatorship. Armando (Wagner Moura) is on the run bearing the new alias Marcelo and desperately trying to elude the hitmen who are after him – and flee the country with his son.
