Take to the slightly pixelated skies in Legendary Pilots, a “cosy” flight simulator that puts you in the pilot’s seat and tasks you with building your own airline. Pleasingly, you’ll also have time to casually enjoy the sights and sounds from thousands of feet above ground.
What we love: How Legendary Pilots keeps the balance between a more leisurely experience with some sprinkles of simulation: feel free to hit autopilot to navigate to your destination, but make sure you’ve entered the correct heading and altitude into the computer. You’ll also have to keep your planes maintained, hire staff and even set ticket prices to make sure you’re actually earning money.
Quick tip: If you want to change things up a bit, why not try a cargo run or fire-fighting mission instead. You need the right plane of course, but thankfully you can choose to rent one – but be prepared to navigate and fly without the help of the autopilot.
Meet the creator: Legendary Pilots is developed by BerkBox Games from Canada and published by MicroProse, a company with a long-standing heritage in the simulation and strategy genres.
