Kill It With Fire’s Wackiest Weapons

A Spider Hunting Sim

Insect spray, a rolled-up newspaper, a boot—that’s how most of us stop spiders. But Kill It With Fire’s virtual bug hunts don’t settle for an everyday arsenal.

This tongue-in-cheek action romp arms you with everything from a frying pan to a lawn trimmer…and, of course, an irrational fear of spiders. Here are some of our favorite ways the game gives you a leg up—eight of them, even—on your arachnid foes.

The clipboard

A victory of versatility, the clipboard lists evolving mission objectives and serves as your default weapon. See a spider scurrying across the floor while you’re reviewing your goals? Swing for the fences! Getting organized should always feel this good.

C4

Using explosives on arachnids is the kind of ridiculous overkill that makes this game such a (ahem) blast. Plant C4 in walkways or likely hiding spots, then hit the detonator and watch the fireworks. For even bigger blow-ups—or to eliminate hardier Queen Spiders—set off multiple charges at once.

Fire extinguisher

Kill It With Fire’s most ironic tool slows foes so you can finish them off with other weapons (including the clipboard, if you want to save ammo). Just remember: The extinguisher’s foam spray makes bugs resistant to Molotovs and other flame-spreaders, so don’t follow up your attack with those weapons.

Cheese puffs

These yummy treats act as spider bait, attracting nearby creepy-crawlies from their hiding spots. Certain flavors also have an awesome side effect: Spice Explosion creates exploding spiders, while Classic Cheddar transforms mutated enemies into weaker counterparts.

Saw launcher

Flinging whirling saw blades isn’t the most efficient way to slay spiders; in fact, it’s hard to land a single shot, especially on little Spiderlings. But outlandish contraptions like this are what make Kill It With Fire such a giddy delight. Plus, being able to collect and reuse blades means you’ll never run out of ammo.
