Wade into bite-size, turn-based battles as the Black King and give both barrels to pawns, bishops, and other wily foes. Wield power-ups like grenades and blades to survive a dozen increasingly challenging levels. Can you defeat the White King?

What we love: Synergizing power-ups. Try snagging Indelible Memories, which makes your grenades inflict bleed damage, and Caltrops, which gives bleeding pieces a movement penalty. Not so fast, enemy rook!

Quick tip: If the Wand of Frenzy is available, grab it! It can instantly refill your ammo reserve and reload your shotgun—a lifesaver when you’re facing an army of enemy pieces.
