The heroes in a half-shell have returned! TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Mobile is a love letter to arcade brawlers of the ’90s. Pick your favourite character — from the fab four to pals like April and Splinter — and clobber Foot Clan ninjas with back kicks and somersault slices. From the streets of New York to Dimension X, each level is stuffed with awesome Easter eggs and sight gags.

What we love: Co-op! Join up to five other players and thrash Shredder’s minions together. It’s supremely fun unleashing special team-based attacks — like the Homerun Swing, which triggers when you hit an enemy who’s been launched into the air by your buddy. Gnarly!

Quick tip: Use the sliding attack to close the distance with bow-wielding ninjas, blaster-toting Rock Soldiers and other armed foes. Double-tap forward to start running and tap the jump button to slide — you’ll duck right under their shot and give them a good kick to the shins.

Meet the creator: Montreal’s Tribute Games partnered with Paris-based Dotemu and kids’ network Nickelodeon for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Mobile. Though the team at Tribute were already lifelong TMNT fans, narrative designer Yannick Belzil took it upon himself to rewatch every episode of the ’80s animated series in search of characters and storylines that would be a great fit for the game.
