Stop, Thief!

Become a master burglar in this retro-cool caper.

Aspiring cat burglar Monique wants a shot at fame and fortune—and in Midnight Girl, she gets her big break. This charming point-and-click adventure whisks you to 1960s Paris, where you’ll team up with a legendary robber to pull off the ultimate heist. Don disguises to sneak into restricted areas, collect quirky items to solve puzzles, and watch your back: There’s no honor among thieves!

What we love: The cleverly interconnected puzzles. Need to retrieve a pair of eyeglasses submerged in a piranha tank? Spike a chef’s soup with hot sauce so he doesn’t see you steal a frozen salami, thaw the meat under a restroom hand dryer, then drop it in the tank to distract the hungry fish. Magnifique!

Bust down doors, disable alarms—whatever it takes to finish the job.

Quick tip: Items can often be used in unexpected ways. A bowling ball might serve as ammo for a cannon; an old ship’s helm wheel could replace a cargo crane’s missing gear. Get creative—you never know what might work.

Meet the creator: Copenhagen-based indie studio Italic was founded in 2015 by programmer Camilla Pedersen and game designer Thomas Ryder. French cinema from the 1960s was one of the chief inspirations for Midnight Girl—although the game was originally going to be about urban climbing before Italic chose to make it an adventure.
