Want to create a small work of art? Make simple sketches? Procreate offers many artistic possibilities while also recreating the natural feeling of physical drawing. With these tips, you can find features in the app that make working with this dynamic drawing tool faster and easier.
Use orientation when drawing
A pattern, such as squares, can be a useful drawing aid for orientation. This is an easy addition to make in Procreate: tap the wrench symbol in the top left, navigate to Canvas and toggle the Drawing Guide to on. You can then customise by tapping Edit Drawing Guide – for example, select squares or perspective lines to work with a vanishing point.
Get familiar with finger gestures
When you understand Procreate’s finger gestures you can work quickly in the app. For example: tap onscreen with two fingers to undo your last action; tap onscreen with three fingers to redo an action; hold two fingers onscreen to undo all recent actions at once; and keep three fingers onscreen to redo all recent actions.
Quickly fill areas with colour
Want to quickly personalise that heart you’ve drawn with the colour red? Drag and drop the appropriate Active Colour from the top right onto your shape and it will be added seamlessly inside the lines. How neat!
