Userscripts is an open source Safari extension that lets you save and run arbitrary bits of JavaScript (and CSS) code for the websites you visit. Programmer Stranded w/ Only An iPad? Get Your Soul Back w/ Userscripts

I've been sans computer or laptop for nearly 3 years. The amount of things I found myself unable to do was getting to be egregious and soul crushing. I think Shortcuts is alright, if you don't mind the worst and slowest workflow imaginable. Then, one day, the universe put Userscripts in my path, and my iOS has since started therapy for the amount of disrespect I've been able to give it! Seriously, you can accomplish an inordinate amount of stuff with this. I made a widget with a picture of orange soda, and when you press it, you are prompted to speak: you must ask it "Who loves orange soda?". In return, it says "KEL LOVES ORANGE SODA!". As for useful things, you can create Progressive Web Apps like I did with a small game engine that emulates a terminal and plays like a modern text adventure game. I've made an application for adding lore to my worldbuilding dictionary. I could go on, but I can't recommend Userscripts enough for fans of mayhem and people on deserted islands like me!

I cannot thank you enough for developing UserScripts. I am blind and frequently struggle with websites that have poor accessibility. Your application has given me the power to take matters into my own hands. By allowing me to run custom scripts, I can now fix accessibility issues on various sites, making the web a much more open and accessible place for me. Good project, but feeling like not complete for beginner

This is an excellent open-source project with a simple interface and completely free. However, the software only has two actions for a certain script, on and off, without further operations. It should be noted that many scripts currently provide more options for specific web pages, such as the option to support single or double columns on search result pages. This software does not provide this function. I guess users need to write their own operations in the script, but for ordinary users, this is very difficult. I hope the developers can take care of beginners and allow ordinary users to further set up script functions on specific web pages.

Thank you for your kind words and feedback. The script options page needs to be implemented by the script author himself. But we know that there is a related API that we have not implemented yet, which may affect opening the options page from some scripts. We hope to resolve this issue in the future: https://github.com/quoid/userscripts/issues/230

Great for WaniKani on iPad

I’ve been studying kanji on WaniKani for over a year now. On my computer I use the Tampermonkey extension to extend and improve the experience of the site. Thanks to Greasemonkey I can now take my iPad and do lessons and reviews on the go while enjoying the extended experience.One suggestion: let me specify the order in which scripts should be loaded. Some scripts depend on others being present (e.g. WaniKani Open Framework) and it would be ideal to set them to load first. Somehow when I refresh the page, I can get the scripts to load correctly, but not always… I wouldn’t mind setting this myself if the option is provided.
