I have a very mathy 6th grader at home, who loves solving difficult math problems. Since we homeschool, I bought him a few books on math competitions such as the Math Olympiad Contest Problems book, etc. Nevertheless, it’s getting more and more challenging to keep up with his abilities. One day, when I was searching App Store hoping to find some math apps that could provide a variety of new problems for him to solve, I found this app “Solving Geometry Problems”. Unlike most educational apps in App Store, this one is FREE! So I downloaded it and showed it to my son. It has kept him occupied with lots of fun! I would recommend this app to any middle school student who loves math.

This app includes a stunning amount of geometry problems. Includes tips to help (because geometry can be overwhelming at first glance), solutions, a bookmark tool, and a plethora of practice problems.My only tip is to make the tips more “helpful” - they are a bit vagueAnd perhaps include a formulas page or references to resources that can help you learn the concepts needed to tackle these problems. Otherwise it is a great app and I highly recommend for people trying to learn geometry.

The “Fundamental Knowledge” section tends to state theorems without proofs, so I think it would be nice if a proof for each theorem was included, but that’s honestly not super important.I did notice one typo on the five problems that I worked through, but I don’t know how common the typos actually are.It is a bit weird to me that “challenging” problems are more difficult than “hard” ones, but that is a minor gripe.Otherwise it’s a great app for finding tough geometry problems to work through, especially for first year geometry students.
