We were hoping to avoid making baseball puns, but here’s the problem: The MLB app really does knock it out of the park. It’s a great way to preview the day’s matchups, buy tickets to a game, and follow along via live pitch tracking and high-resolution ballpark renderings.

I am updating my review to basically remove everything I previously said. They completely revamped the app for the 2026 season and I like the changes! I really like having multi view now where I can watch up to five games at a time.I really like the immersive experience! It allows me to see where the players are on the field as the game is going and allows me to see live stats to the side of the game I’m watching. In 2026 they added the feature of making the players look like actual moving figures with their jersey numbers, which is super sick. There’s something similar inside the NBA app, and I love that we added it here. If you don’t like that view, you can just make the players positioning look like little pucks. But I like the option of seeing the figures.I also think it looks really cool to be inside of a virtual stadium where the game is being played. I don’t expect them to be able to create legit environments inside of an actual stadium, but it would be cool to have some sort of gallery where you can place yourself inside of 360° environments at each of the stadiums for the 30 teams. Maybe even the clubhouses for some of the teams and things like that. Just wishful thinking!

The beauty of Vision Pro is being able to multitask. Being locked into only this app while watching games, almost defeats the entire purpose of the device. Unusable until there’s a mode that doesn’t lock you in.

Once in Gameday, look for the window bar at the bottom of the video player. Click on this bar to expand it, and the rightmost button will open a shared space video player. Use the ornament button on the left side of the shared space player to return to Gameday mode. Glorious Looking Update

I’ve been rather critical of this app over the last year as they didn’t really do much for it throughout 2025, but the update for 2026 looks fantastic. The avatars for the immersive view look like players now, even better than those for the NBA’s Tabletop mode. And the ability to put up to 5 simultaneous streams is fantastic. Full disclosure: I’m writing this on Opening Day, so I haven’t had the joy of the full experience yet, and there were some glitches as I watched a replay of that game (the program crashed twice before remaining stable, and the animation was about 15 seconds ahead of the video stream), but this is a fantastic improvement over last year’s edition. Well done.
