I bought ForScore years ago, and it is probably my most used app. I teach private voice, direct choirs, and sing in a wedding/party band, and I use this for every facet of my work. The ease of page turning is probably my favorite function, but there are so many features I use all the time, it's hard to even list them all. I love that it recognizes the Apple Pencil & switches to annotate mode automatically. The share & print functions are so simple, and being able to share/print annotated versions of a score is such a blessing. Dropbox import is simple & smooth. Set lists are easy to work with, and I love the bookmark feature that allows you to create a smaller cut from a larger pdf (like a full score or song book) with just the pages you need - which can also be added in their smaller form to a set list. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about the app, and I always get irritated by *other* score reading apps because they are missing features from ForScore, or more glitchy than ForScore, or just not as intuitive as ForScore. This app is a steal - buy it. You won't regret it!

This really is THE app that musicians in the industry use almost exclusively. Fantastic and stable, I only wish there was the ability to easily flag down specific pages of a long piece or book and access them globally. Flags are only visible from within that piece and bookmarks are too tedious to create, and act as separate entities. Just need a way to highlight a specific section of a large book or piece with one or two button presses and have it show in the library (pinning a piece would also be useful in this way), also, when creating book marks it should be able to auto-name itself (the title + the pages of the section being bookmarked). It should be a super quick process needing no additional information. Finally, I would really like an option to customize the browser. For instance I would make titles comes up first when browsing the library, so I can run a search, without having to continually switch to (all scores) then run a search.
Life is to short. You are too busy to mess with this app.

I LOVE the iPad app! I have (or had?) over three hundred scores for my choir in it. All painstakingly classified with valuable labels - composers, keys, tags, genres, accompanying instruments, voicings. Many with accompanying sound files. They were organized into libraries and play lists. It was a beautiful thing. Then I found this desktop app. I synced the iPad app to send the files to iCloud. Then synced my desktop app to download them. Files were transfered but sooooo much was lost. Almost all the metadata that I had painstakingly added. The libraries were jumbled. Some scores disappeared. Then today, I find this corrupted mess has somehow copied over the good version that was on my iPad. There is no depth of backup to find a version from last month. The whole-ipad backups are not available for the past either. There's just today's back up and yesterday's backup. I'm heartbroken. I don't have time to rebuild all of this work that took years to assemble. Here's the important point: There is NO VALUABLE functionality in the desktop app to warrant its existance and the pain that it creates. If you look at the forScore subreddit you will see many people have this problem and NO ONE knows how to recover from it. There is NO support from anyone... especially from the company unless you buy the subscription and then it's only "whenever possible based on our availability." I've NEVER heard of a software company that out of the box says there won't be much support, and I've used LOTS of apps. Back away y'all. Be happy with the iPad app. That's all.

It opens into explainations , not not a regular app. This is the first time in my life i couldn't be up and running in less than a half hour on a new app. It won't import from Files as it says it does for the mac or the ipad or the iphone. I have to send each of my hundreds of pdfs singly to the app. At this point I am very disgusted. I purchased this because a friend recommended it but at this point after a couple of hours and only about 10 files in it. there should be away to batch send files. the mac app cant access the files app or have any way but other cloud methods to get the files. I can't get them off icloud or from my mac downloads. Right now. i wasted my money. i just now went back to open the app on my mac. it will not open. I got the sync to work on ipad and iphone but the mac app won't open
