Kingland - Castle Adventure
Ratings & Reviews
Kingland is a perfect blend of strategy and adventure, turning resource gathering and exploration into a truly addictive experience. The core gameplay loop of gathering resources to construct and upgrade buildings is both satisfying and rewarding. Exploration is another standout feature, with a vast world to discover and plenty of surprises along the way. The graphics are clean, and the user interface is intuitive, making it easy to dive right in without feeling overwhelmed.I’ve found myself consistently coming back to the game, and even after hours of play, it never feels stale. That said, it can become a bit of a grind toward the end, especially when it comes to gathering gems. But for players who enjoy a challenge and don’t mind some patience, it’s all part of the fun. If you enjoy strategic planning, resource management, and a sense of steady progress, Kingland is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended.
I was initially overwhelmed by the ads like many of the comments report but decided to continue as there is much to like about the game. I’m glad I did. The ads become manageable and sometimes you really don’t have to move much at all in your battles to win once you have your weapons and tomes up to level 3-4 or so. Just let them come to you. I’ll keep playing for now. It’s fun. Several things. I would really like to make more frequent use of my troops. Doesn’t seem like they get used more then once a day or so. And I would absolutely consider paying for an option to remove all ads. Eliminating the ads would definitely (and positively) influence my decision to spend money on this game. I’m also hoping those clouds surrounding my first four travel villages disappear at some level and there are more to visit. Fun game. Thanks.
I picked this up based on a ChatGPT request for a game that matched the marketing for whiteout survival. This game is close to that and very satisfying until you get a forced ad every time you turn around, do I thought I’ll give the dev a couple of bucks. 10 dollars to turn off forced ads or 30 for all ads. I decided to go big and turn off all ads. Not worth it since you still get 3-4 ads for gens every time you start the game and about half the chests or unlocks are behind a gem paywall including waiting for all your supplies to go into an action to unblock a brew timer that has a new cost to complete the upgrade. You can earn the gems but it’s very slow and you really have to have them to continue upgrading armor and weapons. Very disappointed. And last night I was forced to watch an ad to get my loot when I died in battle even though I turned off all ads. Talk about bait and switch.
Just like the title said. It’s fun but there are problems. I am at a point where I can not go further. To upgrade the castle I need to have a level orange person. I can’t get level orange. I have level purple which is the level below it and when I try to merge them to create orange it closes out. When I beat a level it will say I win but then take me back as if I lost and I have to do it again. I can’t move on. When doing some of the battles it will say 1 skull for easy and 3 for hard. Well sometimes the “hard” is easier than the easy. It doesn’t seem to match for most of them. Which makes it infuriating when you go to do an easy one and then die every single time. It also doesn’t make sense to have such a slow refill for the army you wait two minutes for 2. But it takes longer than that. And also you have daily goals. One is to play for 45 minutes. But sometimes I play for my whole 30 minutes lunch and it will only say I played 3 minutes. I really like this game but there are too many bugs.
So this is my first every review of any game, and I have played many games in my life. First off I want to say the game “was” fun to play. As someone who dosent like to spend real money to enjoy a game on there phone, this one “was” very consistent and fun. I make up for not buying stuff with real cash by watching lots of ads for free stuff. From time to time I have been forced to watch an ad. Yesterday 28 Nov 2024, I had the pleasure of updating the game. This is where things went bad. First off I lost my gold key chest count. I was 3 chests away from obtaining my first Epic item. After the update that number was reset to 26. After that I noticed that there was way more road blocks put in place where you had to buy gems to progress. Unlike almost every other game like this, this one does not offer gems if you watch an ad. This is a next level of greed that I have never seen from a game developer before. Keep up the good work so people can choose to stop playing your game.
I genuinely enjoy this game as a means of passing time and was curious to see there was a new update. It has some pros- the new grid system is fine and I enjoy the new options with troops and mini battle dungeons on the map, along with fleshing out the other kingdoms more. I also really appreciate the quests to earn gems instead of buying them.Cons, though- Amberland seems to have vanished entirely, which I had just unlocked and am a little bummed about.Bigger con- gem requirements have become egregious. I was annoyed to see they were required to ascend your king and fully upgrade your gear, but I was willing to accept it. To fully build buildings though!? I have to draw the line here. If you could at least make it a much smaller amount of gems for everything instead of 50, it would be more acceptable, but yikes.
