  • Fashion over function

I really wanted to like this app, it’s so beautiful! Unfortunately it looks better than it works for me personally. This app is like a racer that prematurely celebrates before crossing the finish line: it does such a wonderful job at paring it down to just the essential, but the essential function is where it fails. My two main annoyances are:1. Fasts can’t be started at any time, unless you remember to start it immediately after you finish eating. When you start a fast you’re only given the option to choose “just now” or times in 5-10 min increments. So if I stopped eating at 6:22 but didn’t start it right then and there, my only options would be something like 6:15, 6:30 (I forget the exact increments, but you get the idea). 2. Hold to start/stop a fast interaction. Unlike every other app I’ve used, where starting/stopping a fast is just a quick tap, in Empty you have to hold the button for a few seconds to start and stop. I don’t understand this design decision. It’s not like this app has other competing buttons or a complicated UI where you might accidentally hit start/stop without meaning to, therefore holding makes more sense so it’s 100% intentional. This app is the exact opposite: it’s so minimal there’s basically nothing else to do but start/stop a fast, therefore holding seems unnecessary and a waste of time. I love that this app has nothing else like articles, tips, recipes, etc. which bloat so many other apps. But function wise I hate this app. I want to come in and quickly tap to start/stop with a precise time. Again, like tripping at the finish line bc they were celebrating and patting themselves on the back. So disappointing!

  • Beautiful app

    1. It’s beautiful. Well done!2. Love the ability to choose color scheme and icon right off the bat.3. My only negative: a lot of the time, I forget to “start” my fast from the previous night (I’m on OMAD). This is a real pain point, because it logs it as “completed” while I’m still on a fast. Starting from a previous time needs work, but the app is gorgeous.

Thank you for the praise on 1 and 2! And for 3 we are totally keen to that issue. We do not have the best scheduling solution for OMAD quite yet but we'll be thinking through the designs in the coming weeks. We're continuing to iterate and your feedback like this helps us understand the use cases so much better, so thank you!

  • Almost perfect!

Simple, single-function app with zero bloat or a dozen other features that I don't need. UI is snappy and well thought out. One major omission, and the reason for my lack of 5 stars, is the inability to edit the start time of a running timer. Whether I'm out socializing, eating my last bite on the go, or simply don't know if this bite is my LAST bite of the day, we need the ability to start a timer whenever we want and then edit the start time. That way, the timer remains true to whenever that last bite happened. I stopped using the app months ago because of this, came back today hoping the developer improved things, but no luck.

This app is tremendously helpful in maintaining my fasts. It’s very simple and provides a straightforward way to retroactively and proactively track my fasts. I highly recommend this app to anyone whose trying to make major life changes.

    Developer Response

Yes! Helpful is the goal!!! Thanks so much for the kind review.

  • Solid App

Enjoy the app and use it as a reminder for intermittent fasting, would love to see an option to set the app to allow you to fast from from specific things for a set period of time (alcohol, meat, etc.)

    Developer Response

This one is an interesting idea - we'll add it to our list, and thanks so much for the kind review!

  • Needs Custom Fast

Love this simple app,BUT it should let me fast at least 24 hours (more if I want). Been using it for a year and have slimmed down but I occasionally want to prolong a fast and cannot with this app. Please update/modify to allow 36,48 and 72 hour fast.

    Developer Response

Thank you so much for the kind words :)) we experience this too and will try to think of a way to get it to reappear (though it might only be possible when you reopen the app).
