EDIT: The latest update has some of the improvements I suggested in this review. The pro version has almost all of them. I think this app is pretty good at doing what it does. I've purchased the 4 splits / no ads option and think it's a great deal for only $0.99. I am having a lot of fun with this app. That said, I think it should do a little more. The description talks about focusing one frame near and the other far. I'd love to do this but can't figure out how! This is a fun app but I see lots of room for improvement, like being able to split the screen in 4 quadrants and autorotation for portrait / landscape like other camera apps. The iOS camera app lets you focus by touching the screen. It would be cool if you could also do that in this app as well as touch the section you want to shoot next, if you don't want to go from left to right. A complete set of instructions in one place would be helpful. I'm hoping to see this on the website when it's finished. In the app itself would be even better. If this app had all that, I'd give it 5 stars. The ability to use photos already in your camera roll would be very cool too, but I'd give it 5 stars without that, since this is a camera app and that's just post-processing.

I used to use the trial version of this app. It worked beautifully and in fact it’s one of the best frame apps out there. The problem is back when I used photo editing software for iOS devices if you wanted to unlock all of the features and remove watermarks you paid a one time purchasing fee. It seems now you have to purchase a subscription to continue using the paid features and this is NO GOOD!People don’t want to pay monthly or weekly subscription fees. They want to pay once and be done with it. Pay once and own the app for life. I can understand subscriptions for users who get constant updated features because let’s face it. It costs developers to update the added features BUT most users aren’t wanting constant or occasional updates. Your average everyday user usually only needs to do a few different things in the app. Are there any apps left that are [pay once] without hidden locks that lock the app and disable it from working properly after a certain amount of usage?! Developer: I love your products but please bring back PAY ONCE. because I’d gladly pay you a one time fee of “$25, $45” for a basic APP that only served one or two functions like creating borders with resizing capabilities. I can guarantee you would not only make more money, you’d get more happy customers.

  • Not that great. Details below.

"Unlock Everything" for $3.99 (discounted to $2.99) was confusing. Had no idea what I was getting, but I hopefully bought it anyway. It did give me more options (not sure exactly what), but the ads are still there. The most frustrating thing for me is the picture selection process. You only have access to Camera Roll or Camera. I have many photo albums, but I can't access those. When you do look in your Camera Roll album, you're only given a tiny amount of space (2 rows) and little bitty thumbnails to select from. There's also no option that I found for rotating a photo. And the top of the photo won't pull all the way down, so you can't use a pic where the subject is near the top of the frame. It's just frustrating so far, but I'll see what else I can do with it. At least after I paid, I found an option to select/take new photos so you aren't stuck with whatever you chose at the beginning. That was very helpful. Overall though, I'm disappointed at the moment.P.S. Flipping through the layouts, I was told I could "Unlock the star layout by sharing with a friend." So what does "Unlock Everything" mean then? I paid $2.99 to "Unlock Everything".

  • ):💔

By far one of my most favorite apps I've ever downloaded. That's why it saddens me that I have to give such a crappy rating.. Many of the photos I want to create (and hopefully can in the future) require me to take a photo before opening the app. While using the app you have the choice to use photos from your album, which is great! Once selecting said photo it says to "move and scale". Well. You can't it stays the same exact size in the same exact position no matter what you do. So you only get the portion that the split slot allows and cannot choose the portion of your photo it uses or even what size. The other nuisance is you cannot choose which "split slot" you would like to use first, which isn't that big of a deal. But do you know how irritating it is when you think your first half looks good then you take your second picture and that slot is absolutely PERFECT, but doesn't match your first slot picture then instead of being able to click the first slot and change it you have to delete your second photo? Ughh. I was going to spend money on this app, but if I can't do these things it's at risk of being deleted please fix!

  • Four stars for SplitPic!

    Zepoptart

I rated four stars for SpiltPic because I think it is a very fun and easy to use app that can be extremely handy and is very creative.A very little amount of flaws were included to reduce a possible five to four stars. (These flaws are based off of my opinion and may not agree with yours so please take note of that.)First was that you couldn't edit your that you chose or had taken once its loaded, that includes cropping or zooming in on a specific part of your picture, or rotating, flipping, or even adding a sort of filter.Next, which adds on to number one, was that you couldn't adjust any photos chosen that wasnt the one you just took without deleting the previous photos taken after it.Last, but not least, number three. Number three is that your frame choice is very limited. The frames are so simplistic that having a 2x2 frame so you have four equal parts, is four upper class/full or pro version. So, if there is a certain style of frames you want, if costs more money that not everyone has.It may seem cheap when you first buy it, but you with quickly learn the draw backs of an in-app purchases app.Other than that I love this app and hope you do too. I'm not trying to rain on this app's parade but I did want to voice my opinions, and for that I thank you for listening to me. Or, in this case, reading my review. Have a good day or night and catch you late, maybe!😉

  • Never got to even use it

    Sarrrahes

I downloaded this app because of all the great reviews it had. I was excited to use it for pictures of my daughter and pictures of the 2 of us. When I went to use it I chose one picture to start and went to scale and move it to fit the frame I had chosen and it wouldn't scale, crop, move, nothing. I figured maybe I just needed to pick a different picture. After trying several different pictures and several different split frames I gave up and wrote to the support center. They wrote me back promptly and gave me some advice. I went back in to the app to try again and the same thing happened. I tried to use it earlier today, the same thing happened, I wrote support about it and ended up removing the app from my phone. I'm not sure what's going on but it didn't work for me on my phone. Obviously it does work for a lot of other people which is great. But it's just not for me. So I give it one star for me but seeing all of the other stuff that people have done with it I'd give it 4.5 stars judging on the pictures from other people. Hopefully it works for you.
