Yes, you can own Pikachu, Charizard and Mewtwo in Pokémon TCG Pocket. There’s no catching them in the wild here – just rip open a pack of cards and, hey presto, new Pokémon added to your collection!

You and your feisty sidekicks will be tested in matches of strength and strategy. Here’s how to start building a battle-winning deck from the ground up.

Once every 12 hours, you’ll accumulate enough Pack Power to open a pack of cards. Choose one of the three packs that pop up, swipe to open it and collect five cards in one go.

It seems like a long wait, we know, so if you’re in a hurry, try reducing the wait time by an hour with a Pack Hourglass. This item can come as a mission reward, or you can save up Shop Tickets to exchange for it too.

My Cards is where you’ll find your Pokémon Card collection, sorted by type, rarity or the order in which you collected each one. Zoom in or out to adjust how many cards are displayed at once. And as your collection grows, you can switch to the Pokédex view to see which cards you’re missing and which pack you should open next.

Each card comes with detailed information about the Pokémon, its illustrator and the attacks it can use. Some cards also feature special effects, activated by swiping across the screen.

With their 3D visuals, these digital cards capture a sense of depth and immersive designs that go far beyond what’s possible on physical Pokémon cards. By exchanging three or more of the same card, you can even unlock additional card effects with Shinedust.

A Premium Pass subscription lets you open one extra pack of cards, so it’s perfect for players who want to grow their collection fast. Another perk is your access to Premium Missions; complete them to earn Premium Tickets, then exchange them for items including Pack Hourglasses and Promo Cards.

With your deck of 20 cards, you can enter solo or multiplayer battles, governed by new rules unique to Pokémon TCG Pocket.

A rental deck will help you get a quick start in the game, but once you start to grow your card collection, it’s time to think about creating custom decks of your own. Need a hand? Use Auto Build to put together a deck. Pick a type such as Grass, Fire or Water, and the game will do the rest.
