Lily Gladstone, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese and other members of the film’s cast and crew discuss the Kyle sisters’ profound connection – and the peril they found themselves drawn into.

Esteemed director Martin Scorsese reunites with long-time collaborators Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in this epic crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.

Quick take: Based on a tragic episode in American history and told through the complex romance of Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Gladstone), Killers of the Flower Moon tracks the mysterious murders of members of the Osage Nation, Indigenous peoples who became fantastically wealthy after oil was discovered on their land. The film is an exploration of pure greed and exploitation – with a captivating love story at its heart.

Go deep: Scorsese collaborated closely with Oklahoma’s Gray Horse community throughout the making of the film. “On a deeper level, I’d like to believe we’ve made something that Osages can see and absorb and accept as an offering,” Scorsese says. “A movie, yes. But an offering that acknowledges the extent of the terror they experienced, and one that might also give some kind of solace. That’s my sincere hope.”

Where to find it: Killers of the Flower Moon is now streaming on Apple TV+.
