Part satire, part reality, served with a dash of philosophy – Sick Game’s “Sick Universe” is edgy with a capital E.
Since launching its first game in 2014, the Taiwanese studio has branched out to create novels, board games, radio dramas and more. The success of Bunny, a key character based on producer “Spinach” Tau Chin-Liu, has also inspired the team to create a diverse character set that comes together in comically bizarre stories.

What they’re known for
Sick Game’s productions prioritise the creativity in entertainment – a focus evident in My Sick Youthful Faith Test, which takes the form of a personality quiz, the AR-driven My Sick Malicious Puzzle and the fantasy RPG Gang Start.
By pairing quirky characters and refreshing gameplay, these games present unorthodox world views that dare to challenge traditions.

Behind the scenes
The initial concept for Bunny, Sick Game’s now iconic character, came from Spinach’s sense of hopeful bewilderment when he first joined the workforce. “An’an, are you sick?” is a catchphrase of this peculiar high schooler, as well as the opening line of My Sick Youthful Faith Test.
Besties Kitty and Bunny used to be the same character in early development, until game artist Hsu split their personality into two and created the duo.
Sick Game’s titles are full of casual absurdities, such as the characters’ obsession with giraffes and their desire to fill the world with the smell of giraffe – symbols of idealism according to the team. And what does that mean exactly? They tell us: “Who cares? As long as it’s sick.”
