Award-winning Reading Eggs nurtures your child’s literacy through engaging and motivating lessons. The app is designed by a team of education experts and helps kids learn to read via an interactive learning journey across phonics (the sounds letters make), letter recognition, spelling and rhyming – with a little help from the adorable Reggie of course!

What we love: The breadth of content available. There are interactive reading games, guided reading lessons and more than 4,000 ebooks to help your child become a fully fledged reader. Their progress is rewarded with Points (in the form of highly coveted golden eggs), which lets them jazz up their in-app avatar and house at the app’s Plaza.

Quick tip: A subscription provides access for up to four children, who can each have their own individual profile (and adorable avatar). On the Family Dashboard, simply add the name and year of birth of each child to get them started. You can also log in to the account on multiple devices, so all the little ones can practise reading at the same time.

Meet the creator: The Reading Eggs app was launched in 2013 by Sydney-based Blake eLearning, who has a history of creating innovative ways for children to learn. The team are also behind maths learning program Mathseeds, which is included in the Reading Eggs subscription.
