Get in the zone

Track time around the world with these apps.

Your Mac’s menu bar clock lets you check local time at a glance, but sometimes you need to know the time where international friends and colleagues are. These apps will help you organise your day and coordinate with people around the world.

Menu World Time lets you put multiple digital or analogue clocks in the menu bar, each with its own time zone and custom label – or put them all in a single menu to save space.

Customise Clocker’s menu with multiple cities, then add notes and labels for each. Want to check a time in the future? Slide the Time Scroller to shift the time across all your clocks at once – ideal for aligning meetings across time zones.

Click any location in Zones’ menu and enter a time to see the corresponding time in other locations. The app’s main window shows sunrise/sunset times in each zone and lets you create location-based reminders (say, to call your friend at 5pm Cairo time); your places and reminders sync across Zones on Mac, iPhone and iPad.

Click The Clock’s menu to see your chosen cities and a monthly calendar, along with customisable details for each. If you frequently call colleagues in other parts of the world, the coloured circles tell you which locations are still in business hours.

Time Zone Pro is more about people than places: add friends, family and colleagues and give each a custom photo. You can also assign contacts to groups for quickly viewing, say, just the times for distant family members.

Combining a world clock with a weather app, Living Earth displays the current weather conditions for each of your favourite locations. Bonus: the app can also replace your desktop with an animated wallpaper of Earth that includes your local weather.
