- iOS 26.4 has a bug which prevents that certain cookies can't be deleted individually anymore (only very few cookies are affected by this bug). However deleting everything (all cookies, web storages etc) at once will get rid of these cookies as well. Therefore there is now a new option available in the "privacy" settings: when tapping the "clear now" button for the option to clear history, Tabs history, Cookies etc. at the same time, you can now decide whether to delete everything without evaluating any filters (cookie filters) or if filters should be still be evaluated. The former option will delete everthing web sites have stored in the browser (and this includes all cookies, including those which would otherwise not be deletable because of the iOS bug), the latter will delete only those cookies which are not declared to be kept (via cookie filters), however until Apple fixes the iOS bug, the cookies mentioned above can't be deleted this way (due to the iOS bug) - Fixes an issue when importing bookmarks.

- New option "Share as PDF" available for the "action" menu. This option shares the current web page as PDF. - Because the Pocket service has shut down, the Pocket option was removed from the Reading list feature. - When using the buttons to switch to the next or previous Tab, the new active Tab button will be now scrolled into view - When using the dark mode, creating new Tabs will no longer show a short "flash" - An empty page will be now dark in dark mode - Fixes an issue which could prevent that the contextual menu was not shown when long-pressing a link, if the underlying HTML code for that link was invalid - Opening web addresses from the clipboard will now work even if the address in the clipboard is incomplete - The Browser ID setting was ignored for data that was loaded outside of a web site context (like saving images from web sites) - Fixes an issue with the contextual menu of the contextual menu within the downloads window. When closing the contextual menu and immediatelly opeing it again (within a 0.3 seconds time frame), then the menu did not open - The reader mode should work better on articles which are split between several ad banners. - Fixes a bug where a file (image/download) could not be saved if the server provides a filename which explicitly includes a "/" character

- There is a new option for the URL mapping feature: You can now also add arbitrary URL query parameters. - In the downloads window, the context menu now includes the option "Resume all downloads" if there are several incomplete downloads that can be resumed. - There is a new "Voice Search" feature that can be added to the toolbar or action menu. After selecting Voice Search, you can now start a search directly via voice input. As soon as you stop speaking (for at least 1.5 seconds), the search starts automatically. - Bugfix: On iOS 18 and earlier, downloads no longer showed progress in the "Downloads" icon itself. - Bugfix: Fixes minor layout issues in the "Share" extension under iOS 26

- The dedicated search field for web searches now has autocorrection enabled - Bugfix: With "normal" scheduling for background tabs, due to an iOS issue, the content of the tabs was zoomed under certain circumstances when the app was activated.

- New commands added for the Shortcuts app. You can now start downloads and open pages. - New option for users of a mouse or trackpad and a real keyboard on the iPad: if you click on links while holding down the Command key, the link opens in a new tab; with Command-Shift-Click, the link opens in a background tab, and Option-Click starts a download. These options can also be disabled in the user interface settings - “pkpasses” files containing multiple wallet passes are now also supported. These can now be easily imported from within the downloads window. - When the address field is active, a new button (above the keyboard) is now available that immediately opens the contents of the clipboard (Paste & Go). If the clipboard contains a URL, it will be opened; if it only contains text, a search will be started. - A new option in the context menu of the download window when tapping on a video file now allows automatic playback of all other videos in the same download folder (this option requires that automatic video playback is enabled in the “Websites” settings). - The switch to allow websites to open apps has now been supplemented by an additional option to request confirmation from the user before launching the app. - Improved “URL rewrite” filter for redirecting YouTube videos to YouTube's “embedded” player. This means that links on YouTube now also work correctly outside the YouTube site. - Adjustment of the browser ID (UserAgent) under iOS 26. Like Safari, iCab now also reports here as iOS version 18.7 instead of iOS 26 - Workaround: If you had activated “bold font” in the app-specific accessibility settings of iOS for iCab Mobile, the bookmarks in the favorites bar on the iPad could be displayed too short for a short time when the app was completely restarted, because iOS activated the bold font too late. - Workaround: iOS 26 may return an incorrect “source” when loading a page in the web engine. When pinning tabs, this could cause new tabs to be opened incorrectly for internal links instead of opening them in the same tab. - Bugfix: Under iOS 16 and older, the keyboard of the address field could close prematurely under certain circumstances. - Bugfix: When adding a tab to an existing tab group, the menu for selecting the group might have been displayed in the wrong place. - Bugfix: The page-specific settings for "text size", "dark mode", "text highlighter", etc. did not work if the page was accessed via a non-standard port. - Bugfix: When scrolling in auto full-screen mode, fixed, non-scrolling elements of a web page could be covered by Dynamic Island. - Bugfix: The QR code/barcode scanner displayed a large empty space at the top of the window in iOS 26. - Bugfix: For websites that no longer use “real” links but only modify themselves (hide old content and show new content) when you tap on “links”, the status of the websites was not saved correctly because the iOS web engine does not report a page change here. When restoring tabs, the incorrect status could be restored. - Bugfix: In the rules for post-processing downloads, moving files to folders based on file name or file extension did not work if the file name was not included in the URL.

- A workaround has been implemented for a bug in the iOS 26 web engine that, in very rare cases, could cause layout problems on a few websites on the iPad after the app was reactivated from the background. - Bugfix: Video files with quotation marks in the filename (in the downloads window) could not be played.

Because of a bug in iOS 26.1 the "closer" buttons for the Tabs in the Tabs window could be shown as black circle in case the background of popup windows was configured to be transparent (the default for "Liquid glass")

- Contextual menus can now also be opened with a right-click when using the app on an iPad with a mouse or trackpad - When importing filter lists, uBlock-compatible filter lists are now better recognized if certain metadata is missing. - Bugfix: Missing translation in the settings of the “Settings” app added. - Bugfix: When updating modules, all modules were reactivated. Now the activation-status is kept intact. - Bugfix: When activating a tab group, the active tab of the group was not always activated immediately. - Bugfix: In the tab settings, the option to distribute computing time for background tabs was not visible. - Bugfix: After moving to a new device, the menu for the app icon was not updated immediately.

- Under iOS 26.1, there is a new option in the user interface settings to make the background of pop-up menus/windows opaque. iOS 26.1 now generally makes pop-up windows more transparent, which can lead to readability problems in unfavorable situations. The new switch can remedy this. - There is a new option for the admin to configure newly created user profiles. The admin can specify in the user interface settings whether these profiles should be in full-screen mode (e.g., to create profiles that are to be used exclusively in full-screen mode). - On iPhones with Touch ID, the status bar can now also be hidden in full-screen mode (on Face ID devices, the status bar is always visible in the area of the “notch” or “dynamic island”). - Improved URL rewrite rules and improved module for the YouTube embedded player. The embedded player should now work more reliably. - Due to a bug in the Mac version of Safari, Safari was no longer able to import bookmarks from iCab. The new version of iCab Mobile ensures that the Mac version of Safari accepts the exported bookmarks of iCab Mobile again. - Bug fix: The gestures for exiting kiosk mode no longer worked when the app was sent to the background and reactivated while in kiosk mode. - Bug fix: When cloning user profiles, the configured search engines were not transferred. - Bug fix: Downloading/saving images from pages with invalid (but explicitly accepted) certificates did not work. - Bug fix: Deleting shared tabs did not work from within the tabs window. - Bug fix: When saving images via the context menu, the wrong image might have been saved if several images were stacked on top of each other at the corresponding position.

- When creating new User Profiles, it is now also possible to clone existing profiles (which includes bookmarks, settings, etc), which makes it easy if you want to have mutliple profiles with the same configuration. However downloads, history, caches and cookies are not "cloned", and if the original profile is protected (password, FaceID/TouchID), you need to authenticate for this profile to be able to clone it. - Improved the way plain text files are opened to preserve their original formatting - Bugfix: Under iOS 26 it could happen when lanuching the App in a way that would automatically activate the addressfield that the address field was party covered by a second address field. - Bugfix: Extremely large files (several GB) in the download manager could crash when opening the contextual menu for these files. - Added a workaround where the iOS would have incorrectly redirected certain links to their "native" App (Universal links) when restoring the state of a web view

- Under iOS 26, transparency settings are now also supported for icons in full-screen mode. - User profiles can now be reordered - Credentials for “HTTP authentication” can now also be viewed and deleted individually if necessary. - Exporting tab groups is now possible in the tab window of the group; importing tab groups is possible via the tab group window. - For the “Open on launch” option in the “App Start” settings, you can now also specify the duration how long you can leave the app before any existing tabs are replaced by the selected “page.” - For smart bookmark folders, there are new rules available which list all bookmarks of web pages that have saved text markers, hidden page elements, or automatically clicked elements. - Bugfix: When passing files via ShareSheet to iCab Mobile the new iOS 26 on an iPad could have opend a new iCab window. This should no longer happen - Bugfix: Changed descriptions in bookmarks were not saved if the text field was still active when exiting. - Bugfix: The website widget now also works in transparent mode of the home screen.

Fixes a crash in case the text selection menu was customized in the past for a non-admin user profile.

- Adjustments to the user interface to match the new “Liquid Glass” feature in iOS 26 - Supports the menu bar on the iPad running iPadOS 26 - In iOS 26, summaries of web pages (for page information, reading list, and bookmarks) now come from Apple Intelligence (if available). - iOS 26 includes a new “AI Prompt” feature that allows you to send any prompts to Apple Intelligence (local AI models) to answer questions about the current web page (e.g., summaries). This feature can be accessed via an icon in the toolbars or via the action menu (if AI is available). - There is a new option for the Action/FavIcon menu to display information about the current page (title, URL, certificates, HTTP headers, summary, permissions). - Bookmarks can now contain a description and a list of keywords. Both can also be used in the rules of “Smart Folders” to fill these folders with bookmarks. - The bookmarks in the Quickstarter can now also be changed directly on the Quickstarter page. To do this, activate “Edit” mode and tap on the bookmark. - The Quickstarter no longer considers the option to open “Links to other domains in new tabs” (since this always involves a different domain), but instead evaluates the option “Open bookmarks in new tabs.” - When closing the twin browser, the “other” browser is no longer simply closed; instead, you are explicitly asked which of the two should be closed. - The “AI writing tools” can now be enabled or disabled for the text selection menu. - New rules for URL-rewriting feature allow automatic redirection from YouTube Shorts to the regular YouTube page (in order to control the video player again), as well as redirection from the regular YouTube page to the “embedded” YouTube player (this reduces the display to the video, all other information is hidden here, and usually also advertising). - New modules to automatically redirect YouTube Shorts to the regular YouTube page, as well as to redirect YouTube videos to the “embedded” YouTube player (allows manual redirection, as opposed to URL rewriting, which applies automatically to all YouTube videos). - Bugfix: In Stage Manager on the iPad, the keyboard closed immediately in portrait mode.

- You can now also enter the name/password for the proxy directly in the proxy settings and do not have to wait until the proxy asks for it - There is now also an option for menus and gestures to open a page or link in Safari - For the 2-finger tap gesture, you can now also select “Open in Safari” and “Open in default browser” - There is a new option in the “User interface” settings to specify how status messages are displayed. The “Notifications” option displays these via the notifications as a “banner”, which automatically closes again after a few seconds (if notifications are allowed as “banners” in the system settings, otherwise nothing is displayed). The “Alertbox” option shows the message as a modal alert box which must be confirmed with “OK”. The “Notifications & Alertbox” option uses the notification if possible, otherwise an alertbox. With the “Off” option, no status messages are displayed in general - There's a new option available for the contextual menu, which allows to copy the text of a link to the clipboard (and not the link/URL) - Bugfix: If the size of the (search) history was set to 0, the history was not automatically deleted - Bugfix: The dotEPUB-Module did not work if the option to enforce background downloads was enabled. - Bugfix: Importing filters or modules from within the "iCab Mobile" folder of the "Files" App did fail.

- There is a new export/import function for cookies. This uses the Netscape cookie file format so that cookies can also be exchanged with other browsers that support this file format. When exporting via the cookie settings, all cookies or only those selected via the search function are exported; the general export/import function always exports all cookies. - There are new options for the text selection menu: "Create link to selected text" and "Create bookmark to selected text". Both create a link that jumps directly back to the selected text when the page is reopened and selects it. - In the context menu for downloads, there is now a new option to open the web pages from which the file was downloaded (if available/known). - The "Auto-Click" feature has been extended so that it also works for links with the "Button" role. - With the "Auto-Click" feature, you can now edit the entries, e.g. edit the URL filter. - RSS feeds now also recognize audio/video streams (m3u8) - Saved audio/video streams (m3u8 files) with a missing internal reference to the stream can now nevertheless be played in the app itself in case the original address is still known (i.e. is displayed in the downloads) - Error messages are now displayed as an alert box when notifications for iCab Mobile are deactivated. - In the "App" settings, the emergency settings can now also be accessed directly via an extra button in the system settings - There is now a search feature available in the tabs window and the tab groups window. - Bugfix: Saving images from X.com to the album did not work. - Bugfix: For nested links (not allowed on the web), the "wrong" one was used in the context menu - Bugfix: It could happen that "blob:" downloads were started in such a way that they were supposed to run in the background, but this cannot work in general. - Bugfix: If there are significantly more than 100,000 files in the download manager across all subfolders, changing the backup flag should no longer cause any waiting times. - Bugfix: When activating an empty tab group, all active tabs are no longer transferred to the empty group. - Bugfix: The current state of the bookmark window was no longer restored correctly when reopened if you previously navigated back several levels at once by holding down the "Back" button - Bugfix: More space is now provided for error messages in the downloads window - Bugfix: Tabs with locally/offline loaded videos/audio files could no longer be restored after an app restart

- New option in the "Tabs" settings allows to change the minimum width of the Tab buttons - Added some missing localizations for the emergency settings within the "Settings" App from the homescreen - Bugfix: In case a web site opens the photo picker of the iOS under iOS 15 the layout of the browser window was destroyed - Bugfix: Links to local files ("file" protocol) in the quickstarter did not work when tapped - Bugfix: in vertical twin browser mode the bottom browser did show a mask for the status bar when in fullscreen mode even though this is only relevant for the top browser - Bugfix: Via Files App and PC/Mac it is possible to copy files to iCab Mobile to different folders. But only files from one folder were moved to the downloads. - Bugfix: The option to end the session when there was no user interaction for a certain time period did not work in Kiosk mode.

- The image file format "PNJ" is now recognized - The option "Select all" is now available in the text selection menu for text fields as well - The Bookmarks folder hierarchy does now show the label colors when saving bookmarks - The Bookmarks icon in the toolbar now has an attached checkmark symbol if the current web page is already bookmarked. - The brightness can be now also controlled via multi-touch gestures or keyboard shortcuts - The Image Browser of the downloads window will open much faster when having thousands of images within the downloads - Bugfix: The action assigned to the "Shake" gesture could be executed twice under certain circumstances - Bugfix: The remaining time for downloads was not always correct

- The image file format "webp" will be now recognized as image file format, so the downloads window will show a preview and these files are shown in the image browser as well. - The "download progress" widget for the dynamic island could crash if the total file size of the download is unknown - The download window will now also recognize text files which do not have a known file extension as text file and provides a way to display them. - When the App is configured to open search results in new Tabs, but the current tab is fully empty, the result will now show in this emoty tab instead of creating a new tab - There's a new option in the address bar settings which allow to switch off colorizing the different URL components. Using different colors for the URL components can make it much easier to distinguish between the URL components, which can also help to detect fraud and phishing attempts may manipulated URLs. However some users might find the colors distracting, so this is configurable now - iCab Mobile now supports installing alternative AppStores within the European Union - Bugfix: The App is now able to import the exported filters from the mac version of iCab again - Bugfix: VoiceOver users could not use shortcuts of bluetooth keyboards to control VoiceOver, because the iOS seems to fail to evaluate the VoiceOver shortcuts for when the App also supports its own shortcuts, even though the shortcuts of the App and those of VoiceOver do not overlap. Therefore iCab Mobile will now ignore its own shortcuts while VoiceOver is enabled. - Bugfix: On a few devices the tabs or favorites toolbar on the iPad could change its height in rare cases when changing the device orientation. - Bugfix: if the status bar was switched off the for fullscreen mode, the status bar mask was nevertheless visoible when the App was lanuched into the fullscreen mode - Bugfix: when saving animated GIFs only still images were saved - Bugfix: the bookmarks window did not always close when opening a bookmark from within the bookmarks search results

- New options in the “Privacy” settings allow private data to be deleted automatically when the last tab is closed if private mode is active, and also when switching between tab groups. - The contextual menu of the favorites bar on the iPad now also contains an option to edit the selected bookmark - When importing a bookmarks file, any file name is now accepted, as well as other text encodings - Improved handling of invalid/untrusted certificates - The “Close tab” button for the browser toolbars can now also be long-pressed to open the context menu for tabs (which was previously only available in the tabs toolbar and in the tabs window). - The “New tab” button for the browser toolbars can now be long-pressed to offer a choice between normal and private tabs, just like the “+” button on the tabs toolbar. - When the icons in the favorites bar (iPad) are switched off, folders are now marked with a small rectangle - New option for automatic full-screen mode: When scrolling, you can now also switch between normal mode and full-screen mode with toolbar icons - If you open several windows/instances on the iPad (Stage Manager, Splitview), each window is now marked with the profile name logged in there. On the Mac (Apple Silicon), the open tabs are also listed for each window in the window list to make it easy to differentiate between all the windows - Bugfix: The Shake gesture was not always evaluated - Bugfix: Fixes a crash when deleting all bookmarks in a folder at once - Bugfix: The option to duplicate a tab created two new tabs instead of just one - Bugfix: When searching via the quickstarter, the search result may have been overwritten by a blank page if the app was configured to open search results in a new tab. - Bugfix: If a search engine which was already selected as the default search engine was selected again in the list of search engines in the address/search field to make it the default, the status “Default search engine” was removed - Some other minor bug fixes

- In the contextual menu of a Tab (Tabs toolbar, Tabs window) there's a new option which allows to add the Tab into another Tab Group or to create a new Group with the Tab - The Tabs window marks the active Tab in another color now, so it is easier to deetc in dark mode. - For the suggestions of the address field there's now also an option "unsorted" available in the settings, so the sugestions do not need to be always sorted by title or URL - HEIF/HEIC files will be now recognized as image files. - The sort options for downloads does now include an option to move all forlders to the very top when sorting - The „x-callback-url“ protocol now respects the setting to open links from other Apps in new Tabs, in case the information whether to open the link in a new tab or not is not provided through this protocol - A Bookmarks.html file within the downloads can now be imported into the bookmarks - On Web sites which provide a filename for a download in an invalid format, the filename that was used by iCab for the download did not always meet the expectations (even if it was technically correct). - Bugfix: The "URL Shortener" module did not copy the short URL to the clipboard - Bugfix: Saving a PDF that is currently displayed could fail, in case the PDF was protected by a login - Bugfix: Old versions of iOS sometimes opened the contextual menu to the top, even though there was much more space available to the bottom, resulting in a very small menu that could not show all the menu items at once - Bugfix: In case multiple profiles were opened at the same time on the iPad (Stage Manager, Split Screen) and these profiles were configured to show the User Interface in different languages, all profiles could nevertheless show up all in the same language. - Bugfix: The very first time the dark mode for web sites was enabled for a site, the mode for the dark mode was not saved correctly.

- The "Hide page elements" feature will make it easier to select the element which should be hidden - Fixes an issue with special characters in file names when creating or extracting ZIP archives - Fixes an issue with downloads when deleting a user profile - Bugfix: After logging out from a profile and logging in again, the App did not ask for authorization if a timeout for re-authentication was set but has not yet past. - Bugfix: solves an issue with uppercase/lowercase letters when exporting the bookmarks - A few other bug fixes

Many small features added: - The sharesheet is now also offered for images and videos in the context menu - When searching via the quick starter, the first search engine is used if none is tapped. - There is a new option in the “Search” settings to open all searches via Address/Search bar or the Quickstarter in new tabs. - Long pressing a folder in the favorites bar now allows you to open several bookmarks of the folder at once - If you open the context menu for videos, the download entry is displayed even if no "Download" entry has been configured for the context menu - It is now possible to open links in new tabs using multi-touch gestures (e.g. by tapping with 2 fingers). Corresponding options are now available when defining the multi-touch gestures - Multi-touch gestures can also be used to switch the scrollbars on/off and change sides - There are new options available for the text selection menu to select the current text block or all the text and automatically copy it into the clipboard - If you open the bookmarks in the background via the context menu, the bookmark window now remains open so that you can open additional bookmarks more easily - For manual full screen mode, there is special icon available again which allows to quickly hide or show all other icons. - On the pad, there is a new option to completely hide the status bar for the manual full-screen mode - The app now also creates backups for the quick starter every time it changes - If the address field is activated, the history suggestions can now be deleted directly - If the address field is activated, you can open bookmark suggestions directly in new tabs by long-pressing these entries - A native Italian localization has been added (thanks to Stefano Almico) - A native Spanish localization has been added (thanks to Manuel Montero Barro) - You can now also add an “Open in app” option to the context menu, which can forward a link or video to known apps (Goodreader and VLC are currently supported) - The context menu opens faster now - several other smaller improvements added And various bugs have been fixed: - The tabs from the active tab group could not be closed via the tabs window - The option to automatically close tabs when leaving the App in private mode did not always work - The option “Delezte Cache, cookies, web storage and history” from the action menu did not delete the history. - The loading bar was barely visible in dark mode. - The “Accept & Keep” option of the cookie filter did not always work - The import of modules from external servers did not work - Under MacOS, no icons/colors can be displayed in the text selection menu, which is why the text highlighter colors were not visible - The quick starter did not remember the “compact/group” status - Downloads could not always access cookies and thus could not always load files protected by login. - The automatic detection of downloads did not always work if the respective file could also be displayed - When transferring filter lists with autoupdate feature (Adblock Plus, uBlock, Easylist) from the old relase to the new one, the lists were saved twice. The duplicates are now removed again - Drag & drop of downloads into other apps only copied the URL, not the file itself - Due to a bug in the iOS web engine, tabs could lose their content under rare circumstances, this should no longer happen now - The synchronization of bookmarks to the Apple Watch app is now more reliable - Various other minor bug fixes

Unfortunately, there was a bug in iCab Mobile 11.0 that in rare cases could lead to the loss of bookmarks and the resetting of some settings if you had updated from an older version. However, as iCab by default creates a backup every time you change your bookmarks (from iCab Mobile 11 onwards, up to 5 backups are kept), it should usually be possible to restore all bookmarks from the backup of the old iCab version. Affected users should proceed as follows: First, please open the bookmarks window and switch to the bookmarks (if other data such as homepage, history, etc. are displayed in the window, the bookmarks may not be visible immediately). In the bookmarks, tap on the “+” at the top and then on “Restore backup”. You will now see a list of available backups (with date), the backup from iCab Mobile 10 is specially marked with the addition “(V10)”. If you select this V10 backup, the lost bookmarks will be restored from the backup. Other changes: - Opening the download window is much faster now, of many hundreds or thousands of files are located within the downloads window - Fixes a rare crash during access verification by FaceID/TouchID - The calculator module did not work - The ShareSheet extension “Open in iCab Mobile” did not respect the option to open links from other apps in new tabs - A few smaller bugfixes and improvements

iCab Moblie is almost as old as the Apple AppStore. This meant that it was not always easy to support new iOS features. The new version of iCab Mobile (version 11.0) has therefore been reprogrammed from scratch and is based on the latest iOS technology. This will significantly simplify further development in the future. The app continues to offer the familiar features, some of which have been restructured and made clearer, and it has been greatly improved and expanded in many areas. APP - The app supports any number of independent user profiles (e.g. for use by multiple users, separation of professional and private use, etc.). - Start the app on the iPad as often as you like at the same time (Split-Screen, Slide-Over, Stage-Manager). - You can log in to each app instance with a different user profile (since iOS 17 this also works simultaneously) USER INTERFACE - Redesigned, clearer and simpler settings window - Improved configuration of the menus (context menu, action menu, FavIcon menu, Text Selection menu). Subfolders and dividers help to make the menus easier to use. - Browser toolbars can be placed at the top, bottom or on both sides, can be hidden/shown when scrolling if desired, icon colors/style/sizes can be configured - Browser toolbars can be configured separately for large and small windows on the iPad (important for Split-Screen, Slide-Over, Stage Manager) - Context-based additional keys for the standard keyboard help with text input - Activate a permanently accessible scrollbar to make navigation or longer web pages much easier.
