To create a situation where I start studying even when I lack motivation, I set the timer for "just 15 minutes." In most cases, I continue working even after the 15 minutes are up, so I use it as a "motivation switch."
When I'm busy, it helps me accurately calculate what time it will be after a certain number of minutes. This prevents mistakes that can happen when trying to calculate time mentally during complex tasks.
