Sometimes getting into shape requires a gentle nudge. This immersive fitness app provides just that. Its bespoke regimes incorporate a vast slew of exercises to help you achieve your specific goal and can be further tailored by a paid-for coach. Crucially, they all come accompanied by glossy how-to videos. And they’re much needed: the 15-45 minute workouts—many of which can be completed without equipment or an awful lot of space—are tough and incredibly effective. There’s also a thriving Freeletics community (housed within a gorgeous Instagram-like design) waiting to share routines and spur you on/guilt you into another workout.

The exercises are great and there are many other positives. They also keep implementing some improvements! Since my first review they eliminated 3 tiny issues. Bravo! Awesome customer support too! Thank you Ben! I think it is currently the best exercise app ok the market. There are also some negatives: you cannot adjust individual exercises within a session, adjust the chronological length of stretching (it’s 30 sec per exercise I wanna do 20), time estimations for workouts are off. By the way, I was a licensed personal trainer for a long time, have a bunch of certificates in exercise and nutrition, and been an athlete for a long time, so it’s not a random opinion.

Before I start with all the whining, I have to say that a lot of exercises are great. However, I’ve always struggled with finding the right difficulty level for me. I faked the ‘feedback to coach’ a lot of times, just so that the next training will not be too hard or too easy. I’ve never found the right level.Now, to the main point. I had a surgery which blocked my ability to be active for the next 2 months. I wrote to the support if they can refund or at least ‘froze’ my membership for these few months. The first answer was pretty positive, asking me to send the medical papers. Which I did. And after that I haven’t heard from them, although I wrote 3 times after I sent the papers, in a period of 1 month or so. This is not how you treat any members, let alone those who regularly bring money on your table.For me to continuing using the app, it would be too unconfortable, knowing that there isn’t the team behind who can take care of me in this type of situations.For this reason I’m not going to give them a dime anymore.
