Everything from the visuals to the level design and sound design is perfect in this game.The sense of depth the devs manage to convey with such a minimalistic game is astonishing.It only took me 4 hours and 43 minutes to beat the game, but that was the perfect length. It wouldn’t have been better if it was longer.

The good:- The lore. You’ll want to study every pixel and every wordless dialogue within this game. - Unique storytelling that leaves room for thoughts and interpretation.- Surprisingly gory and mature. - lovely and unique enemy and NPC designs. - Central town is a great place to hang out.The Bad:- No way of keeping track of the MANY secrets within the game. An indication of what you have collected and what is missing in each area would have been a blessing. - The 800-dash challenge. For a completionist like me using a controller this is a nightmare. Even though I got the timing right my wrist gave out due to muscle fatigue.- Many areas are a chore to go through with garish colors. Having to repeat the same areas with enemies that respawn in the quest to collect secret items was often a bore.- The music is often slow and dire giving the atmosphere of the game, but something a little more upbeat somewhere would have been appreciated. Mixed:- I do appreciate that you’re allowed to teleport to different main areas. I wish however that you were able to teleport more within the areas.- The combat feels mostly great with the sniper rifle, ray-gun, the charged slash and the dash slash feeling strong and impactful. I don’t however like the way the damage done to me stacks with little to no invincible frames in between and with no way to retaliate. This is usually not the way games work and my brain was not fully able to accommodate this.
