ProRemote is the World's first 32 channel touch sensitive control surface that fits in the palm of your hand.
ProRemote allows you to control your Audio applications wirelessly using your existing Wi-Fi network. Get realtime meter data and control your rig from across the room with flying faders!
One binary runs on your iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch!
- Are you behind the drums and need to check your levels and press record?
- Do you frequently need to be in two places at the same time?
- Do you like sitting on the couch and playing guitar instead of being glued to the computer?
ProRemote is your solution!
ProRemote is free to try or you can subscribe to all the features or just a subset. If you only need basic control, just the transport subscription can be added. Or have a look at ProTransport, an inexpensive "transport only" solution for controlling your rig.
ProRemote on an iPad is like having four Mackie Control Universal Pros, but better because it's wireless and much less expensive. You get almost $4k of hardware for the price of ProRemote. And ProRemote also works on your iPhone and iPad, or both at the same time.
Need an XY controller? Check out Pro XY. Use gravity to turn your knobs! Pro XY can also be unlocked in ProRemote.
MIDI pads for drum programming or other tasks sounds nice, right? ProPads is your solution and can also be subscribed to within ProRemote.
ProRemote also contains a virtual mouse and keyboard that allows full control of your audio machine for those hard to reach places! You can see and control your full computer from anywhere in your studio!
This version officially supports:
- ProTools
- Apple Logic
- Ableton Live
- Soundtrack Pro
- Digital Performer
Unofficially we support (no skin or custom fader tapers, not all features may work):
- Cubase
- MIO Console
- Sonar
- Reaper

- Any audio software that supports Mackie Control protocol (or HUI protocol).
** You must download ProRemoteServer in order to use ProRemote. **
Please visit www.folabs.com/download.html to download the server.
ProRemote is Mac only- Windows is unofficially supported via the new CoreMIDI feature that uses Apple CoreMIDI instead of our own protocol. Use rtpMIDI on Windows. CoreMIDI is not officially supported because it is buggy.
** PLEASE report bugs to us instead of leaving a bad review! **
Send a bug report to support@folabs.com and we will fix the bug ASAP as we work on the next release. We want this release to be as rock-solid as our last version so you can focus on making music.
* Please note that certain Avid or Digidesign Ethernet based control surfaces can interfere with ProRemote's ability to control all 32 channels. In some cases ProTools will limit MIDI control surfaces to eight channels only. Please contact us before purchasing if you are unsure.
* We will no longer support any iOS less than iOS 14 with this release. * For those users with older devices that cannot run iOS 14, just stay with the older version of ProRemote, it is still fully supported and can still be restored from the AppStore without problems. *

4.5.0 01/02/2025
Everything is new in this version of ProRemote. ProRemote was written a long time ago and has evolved over 14 years. Much of that old code has become unsupported by Apple which means it could be the source of bugs when Apple updates the OS. They no longer test unsupported APIs. It took over a year, but all that code has been replaced with new code that should last another 10+ years. It wouldn't be fair to do so much work and have no new features, so we added a bunch of features to the Pads utility which now includes gesture support and some other neat tricks it can do. A 10-key numeric keypad was also added. ProRemote is now localized in French with other languages coming soon.
4.0.0 26/11/2021

3.1.1 21/03/2018
Support for the iPhone X along with a few small bug fixes and improvements.
3.1.0 30/11/2017
* It's been a long time coming but this new version of ProRemote is completely revamped for iOS 8 and now also includes support for the Apple Watch! Yay!
* We updated ProRemote to have a "stretchable UI" so that it can support all the various iPhone and iPad display sizes.
** Because the code is all new, PLEASE report bugs to us instead of leaving a bad review! **
Send a bug report to support@folabs.com and we will fix the bug ASAP as we work on 3.0.1. We want this release to be as rock-solid as our last version so you can focus on making music.
*** Be sure to update your ProRemoteServer on your Mac to the latest version (3.0.0) or ProRemote will complain that you do not have the latest! ***
* We will no longer support any iOS less than iOS 8 with this release. * For those users with older devices that cannot run iOS 8, just stay with the older version of ProRemote, it is still fully supported and can still be restored from the AppStore without problems. *
Known issues:
- If you cannot connect from your Apple Watch and get an error, be sure to first launch ProRemote on your phone and connect to a server. Then quit ProRemote and wait a few minutes and then try again on the Watch.
- Avid changed their control surface fader taper recently and as a result, the latest version of ProTools' and ProRemote's db scales are off by 0.2db. We will address this in 3.0.1.

2.0.2 21/06/2010
New FEATURES:
------------
- Added larger fader knobs for the iPad
- Added a new "relative fader mode". Turn off "Require fader touch" in the Preferences to allow the faders to be controlled without actually hitting the fader knob directly. Good for mixing without looking at the surface. Thanks to SSL for the feature request.
- Auto Connect: ProRemote will auto-connect to the first ProRemoteServer it finds on your network if you have never run ProRemote before.
- Added basic status indicator if the connection takes too long.
Thanks again for being patient while we sorted out these bugs! It makes a world of difference testing on an actual device. Please be sure to report all bugs to us so that they can be fixed in the next update.
Be sure to download the newest version of ProRemoteServer in order to get all the bug fixes listed below...
Bug Fixes:
---------
- We were leaking an enormous amount of bitmap contexts and this was causing the application to be shutdown. Please accept our apologies for this instability.
- Bonjour browse services was crashing on quit.
- Refresh timecode when Preferences are taken down.
- Launching in landscape problem solved on iPad. You can launch in any orientation now.
- Fixed problem with overlay positioning after rotation.
- Fixed meter drawing when upside-down.
- Reset server skin preference to last stored skin preference when server doesn't know what skin to show.
- Fixed the Mackie Control protocol meters to decay quicker and not flash/rollover/flicker.
- Also fixes meters going into stereo mode when they shouldn't.
- Fixes bug with meters displaying when they shouldn't be visible.
- Added an alert for low memory warnings. The newer iPhone OS is much stricter about memory usage. If you get this message often, please reboot your device and report the problem to us and Apple.
- Added an alert to tell the user to switch on WiFi if it is off. This is handy.
- Cleanup a leak in network reachability code.
- Fixes a potential crash bug in transport.
- Fixes accelerometer so that we can funnel data to more than one view. This means you can have both Pads and XY using the accelerometer at the same time now.
- Fixed device orientation problems caused by unknown orientations.
- Fixes long standing bugs in server discovery code.
- Version info now looks for internal version before using application version (in Preferences).
- Update the server version in the Preferences upon initial connection.
- Completely clean up the auto/manual skin issues.
2.0.1 19/04/2010
So many new features and bug fixes it's hard to know where to start... oh yeah: FULL SCREEN iPad support.
One binary runs on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Update to this version and you will have support for your iPad when you get one. You will definitely want to use ProRemote on an iPad, it's like getting four Mackie Control Universal Pro's but on steroids.
Highlights for the iPad version:
- Full screen support means 8 channels visible in portrait and 16 visible in landscape mode. Still control up to 32 channels or bank switch for more.
- Full size touch sensitive "glass" faders. 100mm in portrait and 60mm in landscape mode. (iPhone version has 40mm faders for comparison.)
- Full size channel controls for mute, solo, record, and select. Now you won't miss the darn buttons!
- Big transport, Navigate, XY, and Pads are now overlays so you can still control your faders while working with these views.
- Bank switch controls (allow shifting tracks by 8 in addition to the existing track switch controls).
- Improved touch sensitive knob controls. More precise and easier to use. It's like having the Giant knob everywhere!
- Added a Select channel button.
- Added a db scale for the faders. Lets you see each application's specific fader taper at a glance. Changes to +12db scale for ProTools.
New features for both iPhone and iPad:
- New Master overlay gives access to advanced features such as plugins, sends, EQ, and instrument control. (Double tap any channel to bring up the overlay.)
- Support for controlling your plugin effects (only tested with ProTools and Logic).
- Added a Flip button to the Master overlay so you can control sends using the faders instead of the knobs.
- Added a new HUI Sends mode, see and control all 5 sends at once when working with ProTools. (No other control surface can do this!)
- Manually selectable skin. If you don't like the skin for your DAW, pick another one!
- Lock to portrait mode in case you have an iPod glued to your guitar and don't want the orientation to change while playing.
- Completely rewritten Navigate overlay now provides access to Global View and Modifiers overlays. Use the Navigate overlay to choose which plugins, EQ or sends to control. You can also use the Navigate overlay to zoom into tracks or move the selection up, down, left and right (depending on the DAW).
- Global view overlay allows access to specific tracks (Aux, Audio, MIDI, etc…) and function keys. Pressing combinations of these buttons works too.
- Added Modifiers overlay (shift, cmd, option, and ctrl).
- Button overlay provides larger channel controls. Also gives you a Select channel button.
- New improved multi-touch fader logic. New faders track all ten fingers more accurately.
- Master channel support for Mackie Control with master fader.
- Application now restores itself exactly to how you last left it.
- Mackie time code support means that you get all the time code digits if using Logic or Live.
- New insert channel button used for selecting which inserts to control
PLEASE NOTE:
===========
This version of ProRemote has not been adequately tested to our standards due to the fact that we do not have access to an iPad yet. We have had to make a compromise in order to get this version of ProRemote to you as soon as possible. We understand that ProRemote is an expensive product and therefore quality is very important to us. Please rest assured that we will be working on a "performance/bug fix" release once we get a chance to fully test on the iPad. Thank you for your understanding and patience. This version of ProRemote is safe to use in a production environment.
If you reported a bug, thank you- it has been fixed. All reported bugs have been fixed in this update. Please be sure to report any issues with this new version so that we can fix them immediately.
We truly appreciate your support and thank you for being a customer.
