Most intuitive app on the market , i use it in everything i do , starting with architecture concepts , customizing sneakers , graphic desing , drawings , you name it .. would really like to see some updates on the perspective grid assist , can't make it to snap a perfect horizontal line on 2 point perspectives or three , and in ortho grid would like to have more freedom when i scale it to a specific dimmension (now i have to allign the drawing seperatly from the grid ,example : fit a door in an architectural plan view to get a sense of the room dimensions when there are none, using this grid ) oh and some degrees on straight lines when i snap it , 90' 60' 45' etc to make it perfect for drawing .oh and Procreate please try and copy apples copic marker properties , to make te brush strokes relative to its real life orientation and position , when i use the pencill , it would be a huge update on the brushes , they are too random now , seem to have no controll on grain and flat brush orientation
I like this app. There are so many brushes! And the effects you can put on a layer 😍 you can do anything with this app 😍😍😍😍 also I don't really like the procreate brushes, that you use the first time you download the app. The airbrushes are better. I like it. Also..... some problem...... when the drawing is too thin or I have a small little gap in between the lines, the colour-fill doesn't work and colours the whole page. And when I take a sticker from photos and put it here, in procreate, it takes some part of the background... that's fine but... sometimes it mistakes part of the sticker as part of the background... and that's why I also made a grey page to be able to use the stickers properly, and now I think I don't like white backgrounds and backgrounds with many items, since the sticker will look... weird..
Developer ResponseHi there! Thank you so much for leaving us a wonderful 5-star review. Regarding the issue you are having, have you tried adjusting your ColorDrop Threshold? When dragging your colour onto the canvas, simply keep holding down until a blue line appears on top of your screen. Now swipe left or right to adjust the ColorDrop Threshold and see if that helps! I’ve written this review once and it magically disappeared, it seems. No worries, here we we go again. Let me start with the obvious. Procreate is a good app, it’s good for rough sketching, it’s generally smooth, there are a ton of custom brushes made by the community. But that’s about it. Painting in Procreate is another story, it feels clunky as Hell, there is no way to customize the keyboard shortcuts, the lasso tool is a lazy joke, there is no marching ants visual guide for selections, the palm rejection kinda works, but not always, and quite a few other small things which make this a clunky experience compared to other products on the market. The scarcity of updates and lackluster improvements once those small updates drop do not add to the overall experience. It’s been over one year since my original review, but absolutely nothing has changed. Just go with ArtStudio Pro and never look back. The only extraordinary thing about Procreate is the huge amounts of money they have invested in marketing to arrive at such amounts of hype. Probably they’ve been the only option at some point, but that’s no longer the case. I am copy pasting this review into my inbox, so i don’t have to write it again in case it suddenly disappears again. And please don’t bother with one of those politically correct corporate replies inviting me to your forums to find more about your app. I know your app inside out, as I know all the other apps out there. Know that we are grateful, and we encourage you to continue providing us information on how we can improve. 🙏Hey Kdoggdracul - while we can appreciate the feedback here, the idea that we're not working on Procreate is incorrect. It's a living product that we regularly maintain, and indeed it's our sole focus to develop further for this software, and that of Procreate Pocket on the iPhone. If you use the Selection tool on Freehand, by default this is a lasso that offers marching ants and the ability to add to and remove from the Selection itself. The QuickMenu can also offer more than six items due to the features we added in more recent versions - you can have multiple QuickMenu sections dedicated to different features, allowing for much more customisability.We're happy to take your feedback on board, but rest assured we are still always working hard on Procreate. Really enjoying the app, super user friendly and clean interface with the basic creating tools one needs for sketching, drawing, painting, illustrating etc. I especially enjoy the detailed options in setting up a brush. Kudos on that. But there are a couple of things which i would mention, one is the “off the canvas cropping “ and the other the multiple layer selection in transform mode. So if you are in your “creative flow” and do not pay attention you might end up with a cropped work, as any layer in transformation mode gets cropped on parts which are off the canvas. The other, still regarding the the transformation mode, you can’t switch or select between layers if you are in this mode. Otherwise it’s a super ADDICTIVE app, so i say go for it, you’ll get hooked.

If you do accidentally crop your artwork, as long as you haven't exited out of the canvas you should be able to use undo to undo your last steps. The best app on the market when it comes to drawing or painting and probably also the one with the most intuitive design. The software engine is the smoothest I’ve seen anywhere when it comes to painting, and I have been drawing digitally since 1997. I love the way you can customize brushes much more hands on and intuitive than any other program. Very powerful. The new 3D feature is starting to show how forward thinking the team is and I am always excited with each update to see what new capabilities they’re bringing to the table. Excellent. Would love to see more capabilities on the animation side, and maybe add a particle system for the brushes.

I use procreate to make my project for my art degree. When i tried to group some layers and undo because i grouped them wrong, the app crashed and i lost that group which had most of the work on it. Lost forever. This is not the first time that it happened. The app crashes when i move more layers and try to make groups at some point. I am begging you to please CONSIDER looking into this issue. Please. I only got an ipad for this app and it works great but i can not keep losing work, i am losing my sanity with it too. Please fix this in the near future. 😭

We can imagine this would be frustrating, and we are sorry to hear as well that you have lost progress in your project. We definitely work to fully solve the issues related to data loss and crashes, and in case you still notice this kind of issue please contact us directly, via the Support Form at: procre.at/support which is our official support channel to help you always in a timely manner 🙏. - Procreate's data is all stored in the app itself by default, and we do not save any user data on our end or servers as it is fully private unless you manually export your projects. However, if you have a recent backup of your iPad with iCloud or on a computer (prior to the data loss), you can try Restoring the iPad from a backup, as it may recover previously saved data in Procreate. To do it you can follow this link: procre.at/restore. Please keep in mind that a restoration will wipe your iPad and return it to a previous state, so be sure to save any other important data to a cloud service or external storage before restoring. We understand as well that backup or restoration options can be useful, and we are actively working towards better backup solutions for the future.
