It’s not getting blasted out of a cannon that makes Bumballon so delightfully dangerous – it’s smashing into something! Tap to launch this retro adventure’s duck-like hero through crowded caves, then touch and hold to inflate his body and slow down, snagging precious crystals and nimbly avoiding bats and birds as you go. Can you save the princess and the world?
What we love: Dodging obstacles at a dizzying clip! Slipping past spiders and flamethrowers is a blast, but zipping through levels at max velocity is the real rush. You might die a dozen times before you learn the pattern that lets you conquer a cave in the blink of an eye – and it’s so satisfying when you do.
Quick tip: On the second level of Sweet Flower world, there’s a smashable barrier hiding a secret crystal. Look for the pair of floating cannons circled by bees – when you launch out of the second one, aim straight for the cavern wall!
Meet the creator: The work of indie game maker Angelo Nobre, Bumballon is another feather in the cap for publisher Crescent Moon Games, whose deep catalogue includes Neodori Forever, The Ramp and Shadow Blade+ on Apple Arcade.
