So I loved the app, 5/5 and won’t be changing the score, but I decided on advice of Instagram itself to start a new account, except they suggest to start a new one for close friends, as I mostly interact with those on my original, I started a new one to follow celebs, influencers and brands. All worked well, followed them on my new account, unfollowed on the now friend one. Yet 5 days have passed and then the app is set to new account I often get “follow people to see posts” or “couldn’t refresh feed”. Usually when I open the app for the second time in a short time. Forced closing the app works wonders, I get the normal feed again. And no such problems on my original account. But for new and “new” users it’s bad. When will the app finally learn I followed all the people I wanted and the feed will work correctly?

While this platform has long been a classic and functions exceptionally well, this 1-star review is directed entirely at Meta's overarching direction regarding user privacy. The app's technical performance is not the issue; the problem lies in the rollback of basic privacy standards, such as end-to-end encryption (E2EE), and aggressive data collection policies.In my opinion, compromising user anonymity is simply unacceptable. As a user, I am deeply concerned by the massive harvesting of metadata—tracking our connections, locations, and habits across the entire Meta ecosystem. Furthermore, the practice of using user content and interactions to train AI models feels like a massive overreach and a violation of consumer trust. Coupled with the increasingly intrusive and overwhelming presence of in-feed advertisements, it is clear that we are treated merely as data points for hyper-targeted marketing rather than people with a right to confidentiality.I believe that robust privacy standards and data sovereignty should be the foundation of any modern social platform. This complete disregard for user privacy will undoubtedly force me, and likely millions of other users, to seek out alternative applications that genuinely respect these fundamental rights. Until secure communication is prioritized again, I cannot recommend this app.

I have made multiple accounts for personal reasons. I logged off of the ones i didnt use anymore and forgot about them and only used a specific one. On this one, I really enjoyed scrolling through the short videos similar to the TikTok’s ones. Multiple ones of them had the video really delayed and the sound played normally which made it hard to enjoy them. I decided to uninstall and reinstall the app, and it automatically logged me into the accounts i forgot about. I tried to delete them then, but didnt know the password - when creating them for some reason i wasnt asked to create a password, and its needed to confirm it to delete an account. I used the “I forgot the password” option, and it said it would send me a mail, and it didnt. I do not know how to fix both the delayed short videos, and how to delete the accounts. Id love if i received help, i used to love instagram but now it makes me so mad it even made me think about uninstalling permanently and forgetting about it. Please help with my problems. 2 stars rather than 1 because my past experiences from around the year 2020 were positive.

How come US users can react to a message with a different emoji than “❤️” while European users cannot?At first I thought it was a false advertisement (as it’s shown in the app description images that you can react with “🔥” while it’s not true) - which already is an issue in itself. False advertisement is reportable AFAIK. But then it appeared that it IS available for a different country. Literally, the only reason why me and my friends don’t use this app as often as we use other apps (I’m pretty sure you know what is the competition here so I won’t mention them) is because of very limited reactions to messages (we only get to “❤️” which is very inadequate at times) and the no ability to reply to the message by quoting it. For an app with built-in communicator I would say these two are the new standard and without it the success is only as far as it can go…I’d also like to know why there is this market discrepancy and whether the European version will be updated anytime soon.
