I hate it when apps say "bug fixes and performance enhancements" and you are left to wonder what they did. So instead of that, I'm going to make it really clear what bugs I'm fixing (or, think I'm fixing). If you see bugs, you would really help me out by letting me know! use the link to support, and send me a message. And thanks so much for playing MapTap. Bug fixes: Some users reported MapTap freezing when it launched. The app might be doing too many things at once on startup. Fixed that. If you switched apps in the middle of a practice map, your progress would be lost. this should be fixed. When you are in a group, if there is a new unread chat message, you get a little notification for that in your main menu. That notification wasn't reliably going away when you read your group messages. should be fixed. added the version number on the menu page. New stuff: Updated some of the scoring text with some new fun ones.

Bug fixes: transitioning between game types (daily game -> best of -> practice maps) could break.

Minor bug fixes and performance optimizations. Gosh I hate it when apps put that in their new version notes. I wonder what they are hiding. Like "Also 10,000 new things we don't want to tell you". So, Minor bug fixes: the tutorial text was broken because it had characters like \n when I meant for those to be new lines. and, Performance optimizations: the end of the daily game hitches because it is trying to do so many things simultaneously. I spread those out to keep frame rate up. I wonder if apple will reject my app because I'm putting random commentary in here?

Added a new free practice map: challenge round, 5 locations in 20 seconds. Settings: added a setting for globe brightness (in case it was too dark on some devices), updated settings for tap sensitivity. And a bunch of random bug fixes.

Support for features in upcoming maps. Fixed "play missed days", which was pointing to "my stats". Whups. While I was there, I spruced up that page to show more score data from prior played days. The globe dims a bit at the end of the game to better read the end-of-game text.

Content: Three new best-of-maptap additions Visuals: Sometimes you get a shooting star :) On end-game stories with links or sounds, a subtle button will appear in case tapping the text is tricky. Bug fixes:  confirm tap mode could get confused and that dialog wouldn't go away.  some practice maps where you had to find the country, on some countries, wouldn't give you 100 for tapping inside the country. The moon would never sort in front of the Earth. Fixed that.

Groups: in-app notification (a badge in the menu) that tells you if there's new comments in your group, daily per-round scores for your group, in the 'this week' view squeezed in the most recent 6 days (was 3). Best-of: Added a new section for "best of maptap" that has 10+ prior days you can play that are some of the best stories. MapTap+ only, and this section will grow over time. Practice: fixed an issue with daily picture practice maps not being consistent images / locations for all users
