I finished Drive To Survive s4 in two days and couldn’t get enough of it. When I saw there was a F1 game I got onto it so fast. A really fun game, and it’s neat to interact with your favourite drivers too. Sure there are times where you might be tempted to spend money to buy things and upgrade your gear. But you don’t need to as the free crates and default coins are more than enough to get you going. No negatives with anything, just the fact that losing frustrates the heck out of me 😂😂😂 10/10 stars!!!

Initially I enjoyed this game. The graphics and gameplay are ok. The premise is good. Right up until you start to get up into the decent levels the matchups are even pretty fair. Then it changes. Not only were the duel match ups getting far more uneven, but after racing the same competitor twice in a row, both times leading on points right up until the finish line where it suddenly changed without any places changing, (this time a competitor actually below my rating for once) did I realise something was fishy. I believe the whole premise of this game is to draw you into spending money on upgrades to be competitive. I realise that’s pretty obvious for most games like this but they tell you that you can be competitive in this game without spending money and I think that’s just not true. Much like real F1, if you spend, you win. It’s a shame though, the early stages of the game, where they hook you in, were quite fun. I’ll be looking for an alternative with more fair gameplay now.

Easy to get sucked in to spending money but its just a black hole money pit for some, they try to pair up with other players of similar number if races but its easy to spot some layers spend $$$$$ on this game. There are easy ways to get upgrades, when you win a race you get crates of upgrades (if tou have space), spend $$$$ to open them straight away or wait a few hours for free.Heaps of advisements to watch for more free upgrades but its a shame they all seem to be about shooting and violence (sniper games etc). The prizes for competitions are very stingy as its only the players that spend $$$ already that can win as they upgrade their cars, drivers and use boosts to win, so limited opportunities for the underdog to win at race weekends.Often crashes when it attempts to play adverts message: “Oops something went wrong” followed by clouded screen needing the app to be closed.

Favours only those who spend money in the game. Says that qualifying is a calculation of your best possible time with your setup and driver ability however i have completed almost 1500 races in total and qualifying time in the same track with the same setup and drivers and weather differs dramatically depending on whether or not i have won too many recent races it would seem. Actual race is clunky and not in anyway realistic in terms of corner speed except for at monaco where you wouldnt get passed someone on wets if you were on softs and it was a dry track. Also don’t expect to hit any apexes when trying to pass someone. Not once have i ever got past an alphatauri or aston even if they were on hards and i was on softs. If you do download this game don’t ever pay for any upgrades, if you do and then stop spending, you will have a very long losing streak and you are much more unlikely to get anything decent in a crate. Overall an infuriating and very disappointing game.

Thanks for your review! It's possible to get items and coins for free by watching ads, spinning the daily spin, opening crates and of course by racing also! The in-app purchases are optional and you can progress in the game and have fun without it. The qualifying is based on your stats compared to your rival and AI. Keep in mind that there are many important factors when it comes to overtaking. The tires are one of them, but not the only one. You should also pay attention to the opponent's stats and your own stats. If the opponent's driver has a high defence stat and your overtaking stat is not high enough, it may be difficult to overtake, even on soft tires. It is also important to overtake in suitable places on the track - if you try to overtake in the wrong place (like on the corner or on a narrow part of the track), you might not be able to overtake your opponent.
