I earned my first professional writing byline more than 35 years ago, in June 1990, four years before the Internet became a byword in sunny Malaysia. Over the years, the evolving technological landscape made research ever easier. Then, when I was introduced to Evernote by my wife’s younger cousin, I tentatively tried it. However, it didn’t take me long to appreciate the liberating power of the app, and the value of working on a single piece of writing in waves, over time, on different devices with various screen sizes; all of which made it easier to catch typos and to experiment with different sentence structures as I tested them for fluidity and cadence. Evernote is so cool! The regular updates keep improving this already fine tool. Leveraging off Evernote’s portability has boosted my productivity, in terms of final-draft-words completed per unit time, and also by enhancing my trusty iPhone and making it a viable full-blown workstation. Thank you so much, Evernote Team.(Updated in July 2025)

I using evernote from 2014 until now 😊.. so far so good although i just using basic account,but today after I update application,this apps keep pushing me to upgrade the account and always logout and to log in accoun.. this thing happen so many time until now, for now i log out my account and nothing to I can’t do .. so frustrating 🥲please help me anyone🙏🏻

When I opened my Evernote app today, I was led onto a screen that says "share logs" that redirects me to a message basically saying "hey we want to see everything you put into our application, including your note titles, tags, Notebooks, and everything you have written on Evernote... if not we'll deny access to your account I guess lol!"Used to love this app. I have a decade's worth of personal literary works, private diary entries, embarrassing stories, sensitive personal information that I keep on there for my own eyes to see, but seems like Evernote can't help but to betray their customer base for greedy monetary gain.Can't believe I spent money on this absolute garbage. I know you guys are desperately trying to keep up with the rest of the market but come on this is just low. I'll stick to my iPhone notes app.
End of the free tier

Evernote recently changed their free tier limits to 50 notes, so this is no longer useful for me. I can understand why they are doing this, but i don’t like the way they did it… I only found out when i opened up the app today and was greeted by this unpleasant surprise. I used to subscribe to the plus plan and also the premium plan… but have since reverted to the free tier. All the plans are now just too expensive for something i use only on occasion. I suppose the goal of this is to kick out users like me… so kudos, you have succeeded. The app itself is ok. overall, it does its job as a note taking app. But, if you are a new user thinking of whether you want to start using Evernote, I would recommend for you to look elsewhere.

Bug fixes:
- Fixed transcribe button not showing upload progress.
- Fixed links not opening in view mode on iOS.
