Fun workouts for kids

Entertaining brain games

Getting kids active and moving is essential for their physical and mental wellbeing – the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends 60 minutes of physical activity each day for children aged 5+.

To help reach that daily target, educational games platform MentalUP has a dedicated fitness section that’s designed to encourage kids to adopt healthy activity habits.

The app features daily seven-minute fitness sessions, with difficulty levels set according to specific age groups. Here’s a quick peek at what to expect.

A cool customised coach

What makes MentalUP’s fitness sessions particularly fun are the customisable, animated characters who demonstrate how to execute each move. Kids can easily create a coach that looks just like them or model their avatars on the characteristics of their best friends.

Customising also takes them on a trip around the world thanks to the interchangeable backgrounds. Enjoy a workout with New York City or Istanbul in the background one day, and the Egyptian pyramids or an alien planet the next.

Workout goals

Each daily session features a mix of five types of workouts that focus on goals such as improving posture or increased muscle and bone strength. There’s always a warm-up to begin, followed by medium and fast-paced exercises to turn on the sweat – the emphasis throughout is on making activity fun and enjoyable for all ages and abilities. The all-important post-workout stretch aims to increase muscle flexibility and reduce the risk of injury.

Kids aren’t limited to just these daily sessions. They can easily pick and choose their favourite moves from the category page for standalone exercises.
