Whether you’re a planner who frames every photo with the perfect filter and lighting, or a post-edit wizard who lives for effects and touch-ups, Meitu’s got the goods. Here are a few quick tips to help you explore all that the app has to offer for your photography needs.
Take a photo from any angle
You’ve finally positioned your phone in the perfect angle for a selfie. Too bad it puts the shutter button just out of reach…
With Meitu’s built-in Touch function, you can tap anywhere on your screen to take a photo. To activate it, go into Camera mode, then tap the three dots on the top-right corner of the screen and toggle on Touch.
Find your signature look
If you’ve ever wanted to know if a dark lipstick works with your skin tone, or if a peachy blush will liven up your complexion, Meitu’s Makeup tab can help you find the answers.
Go to Photo to start editing, then tap the Makeup tab on the bottom of the screen to choose the look you want to try on. Slide the pop-up bar to adjust the colour saturation until you’re happy, then save it as a reference for when you want to try out the makeup in real life.
Smart filter selection
Overwhelmed by Meitu’s many filter options? (We’ve been there.) Leave it to the app to decide for you.
Pick a photo, then tap Auto at the bottom of the screen. The app will then determine if the shot is a portrait or landscape, and if your subject is an animal or a plant. From there, it will suggest a preset effect. All you have to do is adjust the intensity of the filter.
Cuteness is king
The Cutie feature in Camera mode takes funny faces to a whole other level, adding effects that go from the truly cute to the hilariously bizarre.
Grow bunny ears and cat whiskers, morph into a bobbing fruit or grinning plastic bag and the like. There are loads of stickers and frames to experiment with. And don’t forget to post the results and spread the laughs.
Add text effects to your films
Meitu is not only for photos – it’s equally useful for videos too. Enter Video Editing to select your clip, then tap Text, enter the content and change it to your preferred style and font. You can also give the text an animated effect that fits the rest of your short film.
