Need another new password for that account you just created? Before you rehash a version of the default password you’ve been using for the last decade, ask 1Password to create a completely unique and secure one for you. This powerhouse password manager helps keep all your login information secure – all it requires from you is one master password. Get started in the app with these tips.
Store more than passwords
1Password not only creates strong and secure passwords, it also safely stores credit card details, wireless router data, email accounts, medical information and lots more. It’s easy to find what you need with the app’s Categories section – tap on the + icon at the top of the screen to quickly see the list. What’s more, everything syncs across all your devices.

Monitor security breaches
Tap on the Watchtower tab to check for alerts about any security issues related to the information you’ve saved in the app. 1Password will give you an overall score of how safe your data is and flag any passwords or logins that are vulnerable, compromised, reused or weak and should therefore be updated.
Organise with tags
1Password is all about organisation. Tap a password or other secured information in the app and tap the three dots in the top-right corner to mark as a favourite. You can also add tags so that your information is organised in the most convenient way for you – tap an item and then select Edit at the top of the screen to do this. You can add multiple tags to one item, or even nest them using the / symbol.

Customise your home tab
You’ll probably be looking for the password to your online banking more often than the one for that website where you once bought a Secret Santa gift. That’s why you have the option to prioritise things on the app’s home tab. Use the existing sections, including Recently Created, Frequently Used etc., to add and rearrange items. You can also pin items to the top of the home tab – tap and hold the information you want to add, then select Pin to Home.
Get help if you get locked out
You’ve come up with one master password to rule them all, and then you forget it! No problem – 1Password has an Emergency Kit for this type of scenario. When you first set up an account you’ll be asked to save your Emergency Kit, which contains a PDF with your account details and password; your Emergency Kit can also be accessed any time from the 1Password web browser.
