We added a new setting (Chat > Image previews) so you can choose to automatically show the images on your device that are sent via markdown even if they are sent by a user outside your company or posted by an Amazon Chime web hook. By default, image urls sent to you in chat by users who are in your company are displayed, but are not if they are sent by someone outside your company or posted via a web hook and you must click on a link to view the image preview.

* Improved signaling to alert Authorized attendees when there is someone waiting to be admitted into the meeting. You are an Authorized attendee if you are in the Amazon Chime company as the meeting host. * When Amazon Chime is in the foreground a toast will be displayed on the active meeting tab. A Review action is available and will take you to the full Waiting Room section with options to Admit and Deny users. You can dismiss the toast or it is auto dismissed after 10 seconds or when there are no longer any users waiting. The toast will be displayed again after 15 seconds if there are still user(s) waiting. * When Amazon Chime is in the background a notification will be presented and an audio cue played. Tapping on the notification will bring you to the full Waiting Room section with options to Admit and Deny users. The notification will be displayed again after 15 seconds if there are still user(s) waiting. * Relabeled the button presented in the Waiting Room from Leave to Leave meeting and changed the style from primary (default click) to secondary to improve the clarity of the action. If you choose Leave meeting, the message indicates that leaving would remove your request to join the meeting. * Fixed an issue where the list of user in the Waiting Room would not refresh correctly, and would sometimes result in a stale list of users to be admitted/denied. * Bug fixes and performance improvements.

* Fixed an issue preventing the use of the iOS share extension to share a file with the app.

* Added an option to generate a new meeting ID when creating an instant meeting. Previously, you could only create an instant meeting using your personal meeting ID. * Note: Make sure you upgrade your iPhone to iOS 16.5 - for a fix related to dial-in provided by Apple.

Redesigned meeting experience: * User interface refresh: Color palette, fonts and icons have been updated across meeting and non-meeting screens. * Support for up to 25 concurrent video tiles (previous limit was 8). * New roster screen: Redesigned roster screen includes tiles with initials to make it easier to identify when an attendee’s mic is muted/unmuted, is sharing video or their screen. The active speaker’s tile is also highlighted with a border. Tiles are placed into different sections to indicate who is ‘Present’, ‘Running Late’, ‘Invited’ etc. to easily identify what an attendee’s join status is. * Active speaker view: To make it easier follow the active speaker in a meeting, a spotlight view is now available that automatically displays the video of the user identified by Amazon Chime as the active speaker (when their video is turned on). You can swipe to the spotlight view when it is available. * Ability to “Raise Hand” is now available for mobile attendees. The Raise Hand button notifies other meeting attendees via meeting chat when the user raises and lowers their hand. * Improved meeting controls: To improve usability, control layouts and indicators have been updated. These changes include clearer indications of mute and video statuses, and a re-design of important meeting information like active speaker, messages, options menu, and raise hands controls. * New Join Meeting experience: Redesign join meeting screens that allow for faster joins and to provide better access to controls. The screen has key controls such as answer/decline, audio controls, running late, message all and phone audio combined for easier access prior to a meeting. In countries where available, one-touch Dial-in and now Call Me audio is now available on this screen. Accessibility Improvements * Consistent screen reader support - alt text callouts for controls, video, menus, and improvements to nameplates according to best practices. * Keyboard support improvements - focus logic on all controls and options. * Readability improvements - contrast adjustments and visual support for enlarged text sizes. Performance Improvements * With this version, we pause video tiles that are not actively being viewed by the user to reduce data consumption and improve performance. Bug Fixes * Fix for issues where the meeting ring would continue on phone after it had been answered on desktop. * Fixed issue for 1:1 calls where a meeting ring would not be dismissed when a recipient would use the ‘message’ option.
