For the love of coffee

Create the perfect cup, dessert or smoothie with these apps.

Ah, coffee. It’s one of the most beloved beverages in the world – and for good reason. Not only does it bring people together, it can also help to fuel both productivity and creativity.

To pay tribute to it, we’ve gathered together some of our favourite apps that help us to celebrate coffee and its versatility – from brewing the perfect cup to making coffee-based treats and smoothies.

Coffee Recipe Manager

Do you use a cafetière or a filter machine? Perhaps you enjoy a slower, more manual process. Whatever your brewing style, you’ll likely find it in Coffee Recipe Manager – a handy utility app that can help you make the perfect cup of joe.

Find guides for all sorts of machines and brewing styles in Coffee Recipe Manager.

The app’s guides act as a virtual barista, on hand to enhance your current brewing routine or support you when trying out a new machine. Create your own recipes via the Custom tab or explore new ones by tapping Generate and selecting your machine, type of coffee and brewing style.

Tasty

For those with a sweet tooth, Tasty is packed with inspiration for incorporating coffee into your desserts. Type “coffee” into the search bar on the Discover tab and check out the mouth-watering results.

Whip up delicious, coffee-flavoured desserts with Tasty’s creative recipes.

You’ll find gluten-free blueberry coffee cake, mocha Nanaimo bars, a dairy-free chocolate, coconut and espresso panna cotta – and plenty more! The videos make each process easy to follow, and the Tips section includes suggestions from other users on ways to elevate the recipe.

ChatGPT

Love coffee and have a few basic ingredients to use up at home? Head to ChatGPT to make something delicious out of them! An example prompt might be: “I have bananas, coffee, oats, eggs and protein powder, please write me a recipe for a pancake.”

Fancy a coffee-based snack? Tell ChatGPT and it will respond with a recipe.

For something to enjoy on the go, you could try a smoothie. Here’s an example prompt: “Please write me a recipe for a coffee-based smoothie with almond butter, dates and bananas.” It’s a neat way to experiment in the kitchen with a flavour you love and reduce food waste at the same time.
