Flinging Poké Balls and duelling against other Trainers may be the first things that Pokémon GO brings to mind, but there’s lots more going on in Pikachu and Squirtle’s home world. Check out these challenges and gameplay options – you’ll want to try them all!
Party Play with the crew
Having friends in Pokémon GO means getting to fight group battles and swap your Pokémon. At level 15 and above, you can also tap your avatar to join an adventuring party with up to three nearby friends. Find your teammates on the map, then tackle Party Challenges to gain experience and Stardust.

Follow Routes to legendary upgrades
Routes can take your Party Play to the next level. From the bottom right of the Map View, access the Nearby menu to explore Routes other Trainers have created and increase your chances of capturing Pokémon using your Daily Adventure Incense.
Travelling a Route gives you the opportunity to collect Zygarde Cells, which you can use to upgrade a Zygarde. This Generation VI Legendary Pokémon looks like a puppy in its younger form, but with enough cells, you can upgrade it to its league-ready final warrior form.

Exchange postcards to collect Vivillon
Send your friends gifts every day, and when they return the favour, tap the pin on the attached postcard to save it as a keepsake – and get a chance to collect the exclusive Vivillon.
See how far along you are by tapping the butterfly icon in the Medal section of your trainer profile. With enough postcards from the same region, you’ll be able to capture a Scatterbug with a location–specific pattern. Then, with care and enough candies, your Scatterbug will evolve into a beautiful Vivillon.

Check out the Vivillon Habitat Map to learn where regional patterns are found. And when you travel abroad, remember to send gifts back to your friends to help them collect rare Vivillon!
