I used to keep my notes in tabs of Sublime Text 3 and that used to get a bit cluttered and hard to sort out. Ulysses augments your workflow with GitHub and WordPress support and saves things in iCloud to access from phone. I also love the Second Editor side-by-side mode with parallel scrolling. Being able to preview my changes life in the format of my choice is invaluable for prototyping a document before exporting it. They solved all the inconsistencies in Markup languages and implementations of MarkDown variations with their own ultimate spinoff MarkDown XL. Outline, Annotations and Links helped me summarise the business report I exported in PDF with preview.

A BOON for the Freelance Writer

I'm a freelance writer and I do a lot of long form content for a lot of different clients. I am severely technologically challenged and the markdown formatting has been a huge time saver and I don't cry while formatting my article, even with images and gifs. I also like Ulysses better than other writing softwares because the folder and file organization is intuitive and helps me stay focused on the present while still having the draft versions of my past work. If you're like me, and like to keep things simple and beautiful, you can't go wrong with Ulysses.

My look out for the all-time best note taking app (I have tried a FEW) stopped, once I found Ulysses. It's simplicity -- geared to make you write, integrated library and ability segregate the essential writing into Projects is at once praiseworthy and at the same time unique. Everything you do is always handy on the same screen. The only reason I have held back giving the fifth star is because it lacks a menu bar note taking feature and the inability to view notes as a grid.

I have other apps that use for writing. Some for casual notes, some journaling, and one ( you know who !) for ‘serious ‘ projects. But last sort - serious - I end up avoiding because I don’t like serious. Takes all the fun out of writing. Ulysses is the only app I feel at home; where the writing is what I think about, not the app. And that truly is the highest praise i can give you guys.
