What we love: The surprising strategy. Thanks to slick physics, you can pull off classic tricks such as sliding bags into the hole, using one bag as a backstop to sink another or throwing swishes (shots that go in without touching the board). Your avatar’s hilarious reactions – pumping their fist, collapsing in dismay – perfectly cap off each round.

Quick tip: In Balloons mode, you’ll hit more targets if you softly lob bags rather than hurl overhands. Lobs tend to ricochet between nearby balloons – taking out several in one shot – while hard, straight throws often send the bag careening off one target without hitting another.

Meet the creator: Founded in 2005, North Carolina–based Pixeljam is known for lo-fi games such as the space adventure Last Horizon. Cornhole Hero was born when studio co-founders Miles Tilmann and Richard Grillotti were sitting in a restaurant and a professional cornhole match appeared on TV.
