We’ve given your OS Maps app a fresh new look with a redesigned map selector, added a new Outdoors Map for Ireland, two new US Maps from the U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service and made it easier to find the right route for your next adventure. Plus, we’ve squashed bugs and made things better behind the scenes. Update now and get exploring!

Your private profile has arrived. It brings your reviews, shared routes and favourite photos together in one place that’s just for you. You can add a profile photo too, so it feels a bit more like home without sharing anything you don’t want to. We’ve also added a gradient value to the elevation chart. You can now scrub along the chart to see the elevation at any point on your route, making it easier to understand where the ups, downs and leg‑burners live. Distance from start to waypoints is now included as well, giving you clearer context as you move through a route. The minimum supported version is now iOS 16.

This release introduces a fix to address an issue with loading of routes.

Maps on your wrist? Yes, please! You can now view our standard map on your watch and keep an eye on your activity recording while you’re out and about. We’re adding Points of Interest – starting with Transport and Accommodation categories to help you find what you need, right on the map. On the Routes tab, sharing just got smarter. Share your filtered view with others and filter by your saved routes for a more personalised experience. The Home tab gets a fresh new look with updated design and layout for a smoother experience. Creating routes is now even easier with an auto-download toggle, and when you bookmark, we’ll remind you to download so you’re always ready to go offline. Heads up: This will be our last release for iOS versions below 16. From the next update, iOS 16 will be the minimum requirement.

With this release, you can now see obstacles and hazards on the map - things like fallen trees, blocked paths, or surprise mud baths – reported and shared by the OS Maps community. You’ll also see how many people have confirmed each one, so you know it’s legit. Toggle them on or off in the map layers. Want to report something? Tap the yellow speech bubble on your location, or drop a pin and select ‘Report obstacle or hazard’.

This latest release includes multiple improvements: * We’ve made it easier to use and find routes on the Routes tab * To improve the security of your account, we’re asking users to verify their email address * Premium users can now export recorded activities as a GPX * Locate Me is now accessible from the three dots menu item when creating, recording, and following a route so that you can always check you precise information location easily

In this release, we’ve made improvements to map loading speeds and you can now watch a 3D fly-through of your route in portrait or landscape mode before heading out to follow it.

In this release you can now save a dropped pin to your ‘Saved’ area so that you can use it later. You can choose to save your favourite pub, point of interest, or some where new you’d like to explore. You can then add a saved pin to a route, and share with friends. To save a pin, drop a pin or search for a location then tap ‘Save pin'. You can turn pins on or off by going to the map layers (3 squares icon), and see a list view under ‘Pins’ on the Saved tab.

In this latest release you can now use OS Maps in landscape mode to create and find routes.

In this release, we’ve made it easier to discover routes from your favourite OS Maps partners like Sustrans and Country Walking Magazine. Just head to the Routes tab, tap Filter, go to Select Partners and select your favourite partners to find routes you’ll love and trust.

In this release, OS Maps premium subscribers can now view and plot in 3D across all map types. To turn 3D mode on, go to the map layers icon (three stacked squares) when viewing the map, and toggle on 3D mode.

In this release we’ve made it easier to find a specific route by introducing the option to search for the route by name and simplified how to reset your password.

This release focuses on improving the performance of the app including quicker loading of the map when online and offline. It also includes improvements to the default behaviours for current location and auto rotate so that the current status will be remembered when closing and re-opening the app, app is in the background, or the screen is locked.
