Extraordinary Attorney Woo

“My name is Woo Young-woo, whether you’re reading it forward or backward. Like kayak, deed, rotator, noon, racecar… Woo Young-woo.”

Woo Young-woo is not your typical attorney. Her arguments in court are fascinatingly original, and she just so happens to know an awful lot about whales. Even her romantic interest has a singular viewpoint, comparing his feelings for her to the unrequited love a cat owner has for their cat!

To follow the story of this quirky and charming protagonist, check out Extraordinary Attorney Woo in Webtoon. You’ll be able to witness Woo's professional and personal growth through iconic scenes from the webtoon’s namesake K-drama, as well as glean new strands to the plot of her work adventures, all laid out in full colour.

There are three things that make Woo extraordinary: she is autistic, she has an IQ of 164, and she is born with a photographic memory. She memorised everything to do with law and graduated at the top of her law school class at Seoul National University. But despite her achievements, her idiosyncrasies mean that she is often the centre of attention at Hanbada, the prestigious law firm where she works, and her abilities are constantly called into question.

Undeterred, Woo faces her challenges head-on, solving case after case and eventually earning the respect of the rest of her firm – which, in turn, strengthens her determination to practise law.

“Not everything that steps out of line, and thus ‘abnormal’, must necessarily be ‘inferior’.”

This quote that Woo uses perfectly surmises the point of the story, calling for a kinder and gentler world that embraces the differences of individuals with respect, empathy and understanding.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is now serialised in Webtoon, with new episodes coming out every week. Stay tuned for her witty light bulb moments!
