June’s Journey is a compelling whodunnit-style tale of scandal, intrigue and forgotten family secrets. It unfolds like a classic crime novel, delivered with a generous helping of globetrotting 1920s glamour.

You’ll need to be particularly eagle-eyed if you’re going to solve June’s case, however, because the story is driven by your ability to pick up on details. Each location you visit is densely packed with seemingly random objects – some easy to spot, others cunningly camouflaged.

But June’s Journey isn’t just about unearthing clues that will become essential to your quest, because the coins you earn along the way can be used to renovate June’s family mansion on Orchid Island. In fact, the game’s mystery plot integrates seamlessly with its home makeover elements. Doing up the estate wins the flower tokens you need to unlock the next chapter of the investigation, including some levels where your skills as a detective come to the fore.

Once you’ve been introduced to June and her quest, it really is as simple as diving into the first puzzle. You’re presented with a list of objects to find, and as soon as you spot them, a quick tap is all you need to remove them from your to-do list. But completing each level isn’t quite as simple as randomly tapping the screen in the hope you might stumble on what you’re looking for. Accuracy and speed are both rewarded with higher scores, which subsequently help your investigations to progress more quickly.

You don’t have to get everything right first time, however. A key part of the game is revisiting each location to find objects old and new. Each level subsequently becomes a test of both your observation skills and your memory.

Helpful hints are available for those times you’re drawing a complete blank – though you’ll often score better if you resist the temptation – while zooming in to explore in closer detail will help you spot things that were previously hidden.
