Transcriptionist 1.3 offers new features for exporting selected parts of transcriptions — including audio clips! You can now search a transcript to find some text, then clip out the matching audio for sharing or editing elsewhere. There are also enhancements to transcription quality, as well as to performance in various areas of the app. New export features: • Export selected paragraphs as well as entire transcripts. • Export Quick Clips: export the audio for the selected paragraphs. • Export Custom Clips (requires iOS 17): similar to Quick Clips but offering more control. When making a Custom Clip, you can view the waveforms for all speakers across the entire duration of the transcription, zoom in and out, adjust the selection range, and add/remove speakers from the mix. • Custom Clips default to the same settings as a Quick Clip, so if a Quick Clip isn’t quite what you need, you can easily make small adjustments — or completely change it, if you prefer. Performance: • Updates to transcription engine. • Various improvements to app responsiveness. • Analysing each audio file before transcription is now faster. • Transcribing with Look Ahead enabled should now be faster and more reliable.

Version 1.2 brings improvements related to transcribing video soundtracks: • A wider range of video formats can now have their soundtracks imported for transcription. • If a video has multiple soundtracks (e.g. for different languages), they're all imported as separate audio files. • You can ask Transcriptionist to prefer shorter sentences (better for subtitles) instead of longer paragraphs (better for documents), either for individual transcriptions, or you can set your preferred choice in the Settings. • Transcription engine improvements.
