The latest bugs and my biggest complaint have finally been fixed. We can now use the native clear or tinted Home Screen theming feature without it interfering with the widgets’ appearance, thanks to the new “Always in Color” option in the widget settings, similar to the one of the same name that was already available in the native Apple Photos widgets. And even without enabling it, the handling of the clear and tinted theming options has been greatly improved. Widgets are now fully usable and pleasant to the eye, no matter what.I think the app itself could still benefit from some improvements, but since the widgets are the main feature and selling point in my opinion, that matters less, and I have probably bothered the developer enough already. I will still repeat what I wrote in my previous reviews, though: the “new” vertically centred layout gets in the way of the picture behind it. It might suit abstract backgrounds or empty landscapes, though still not ideal, but it does not work well for people, pets, or anything with meaningful, focused, central content. Everything should be moved to the very bottom.I would also like to add that the new feature that lets us move the picture is great, it really is, but it only applies to the widgets and the counter selection column in the app. The ability to manually crop, zoom, and move the in-app background of the opened counter would mitigate the aforementioned layout issue.I would also like to report some widget rendering issues that sometimes occur when resizing them, resulting in empty blue widgets which, when tapped, open the app but not the corresponding counter.Other than that, apart from these relatively small issues, the app, as a counter and picture widget manager, is now really great and nearing perfection. I would therefore like to thank the developer for listening to feedback and for his continuous efforts.Great work, well done, and thank you very much!
Hi Nolan, thanks for the feedback. I’ll definitely take your observations into account to keep improving it. They’re really valuable.
