What we love: How upbeat it is. With vivid colours, a bouncy soundtrack and fireworks at checkpoints, this game radiates joy. And its food-themed enemies crack us up. Rolling doughnuts! A giant singing macaron! Danger at its most delicious.

Quick tip: Sliding down pipes is exhilarating, but they’re full of traps! As you descend, rotate your peeps to avoid fan blades, barriers and holes.

Meet the creator: Founded in Russia in 2012, FiftyTwo is a three-man indie developer composed of Mikhail Shagin, Dmitry Victorov and Alexey Kalinin. Before Populus Run, they made the stylish puzzlers Jellies! and Kenshō.
